The tour guide will share insights into the garden’s history and its unique characteristics.
• Kagurazaka - The tour then proceeds to the Kagurazaka area, which was formerly an entertainment district. It retains a sophisticated ambiance and is now home to unique plant art and handcrafted shops.
• Atami-yu Laundromat - The guide will take you to the back streets of Kagurazaka, where local public baths, bars, and nightlife venues are situated.
• Akagi Shrine - Akagi Shrine, distinctively designed by Kuma Kengo, the architect of the National Olympic Stadium, features the Akagi Cafe, offering a serene atmosphere for relaxation.
• AKOMEYA TOKYO in la kagū - La kagū is a multi-purpose facility designed by Kengo Kuma, housing clothing, fashion goods, bookshops, and a café, where visitors can discover new items.
• Senso-ji Temple - Senso-ji Temple, the oldest temple in Tokyo, is well-known among locals as it enshrines the Asakusa Kannon Bodhisattva. The main gate, Kaminari Mon or Thunder Gate, is famous for its large red lantern. Established during the feudal era, Nakamise Dori is Tokyo’s oldest shopping street, featuring around 90 shops and restaurants where visitors can enjoy street food and purchase Japanese souvenirs for family and friends. Outside Asakusa Station, you can see a golden object towards the Sumida River. What is the golden object? Built by the Asahi Beer Company, the golden object is said to represent the golden flame, symbolizing the burning passion of Asahi Beer employees, and is called “la Flamme d’Or” in French.

Following this, we journey to the Kagurazaka area, formerly renowned as an entertainment hub and still possesses nostalgia from those times. Your guide will steer you through the hidden lanes, revealing another facet of Kagurazaka and a contemporary, intricately designed complex facility by Kengo Kuma, the architect of the Japan National Stadium. We conclude the tour with a visit to the Sensoji temple, Japan’s most ancient temple.
