• Sri Shakti Dhevasthanam Bukit Rotan - Sri Shakti Temple is unique as it is the only temple globally where all 51 Shaktis are represented. The temple features 96 intricately carved pillars symbolizing the 96 universal principles of Hinduism. Surrounded by an ornate wall, the entrance is marked by a stunning Raja Gopuram, a multi-tiered tower reaching 74 feet high. This 5-tiered Raja Gopuram showcases the architectural marvels within. • Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park - Located in the small coastal village of Kuala Selangor, northwest of Kuala Lumpur, this area is famous for its attraction along the Selangor River. Here, visitors can witness the renowned fireflies (Kelip-Kelip in Bahasa Melayu) during the evenings and nights. These fireflies inhabit the mangrove tree species known as berembang and form one of the largest firefly colonies in the world. Fireflies, also called ‘Lightning Bugs,’ emit a bright glow at night to attract mates. Although they can shine during the day, their light is not visible to humans.
• Altingsburg Lighthouse - Situated at the highest point of Bukit Melawati, this lighthouse offers breathtaking views of the Straits of Malacca. Constructed in 1907, it has been operational for navigation since 1910. Its strategic location also made it a key point for monitoring the Strait of Malacca. Named after a Dutch General, it was extensively used during the British colonial era.
• Bukit Melawati - This historic fort was built in the late 18th century under the rule of the second Sultan of Selangor and later succumbed to Dutch cannons. The site retains its original foundation stones, cannons, and a legendary execution block. Visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the coastline from the hill. Bukit Melawati is also home to Silver-Leafed Monkeys and Long-Tailed Macaques. Peanuts can be purchased from local vendors to feed the monkeys. While Silver-Leafed Monkeys are generally gentle, caution is advised with Long-Tailed Macaques as they can be quite mischievous. Visitors should be careful when feeding them, as they are wild animals and can be dangerous if provoked.
