Buffalo Guided Kayak & Hiking Tour
Take a two-part tour of Buffalo that begins on a winding river and moves to a gorgeous natural park with riverside views. Paddle your way down the Buffalo River to relax in the cooling breeze as you scoot down historic shores full of charming sights. Pass the towering Marine Elevator, the former western end point of the Eerie Canal, the USS Little Rock, and more. Then, trek through the trails of the Red Jacket Riverfront Park to wander among willows and marshes.
What You Will Do
- Tour Buffalo River by kayak: paddle the placid waters of the city's central waterway while a brisk breeze blows and green shores overshadowed by this industrial town accompany your route
- Pass by Canalside, a beautifully redeveloped section of riverfront real estate that was the former terminus for the western portion of the Eerie Canal
- Escape the excitement of the city center with a leisurely trip down the Cazenovia Creek, a tiny stream that lets you bask in the wild wonder of western New York
- Take a break from the kayaking to hike through the Red Jacket Riverfront Park where wooded hills jut out into the Buffalo River and hand-painted murals hide throughout

Our guide, Max, was wonderful, adjusting the speed of our trip to match our abilities. He had a running commentary about the history, biology, and geology of the area. We also enjoyed our hike in the Red Jacket Park, exploring places most don't see. All in all, we had a GREAT time!
