Completely satisfied - A great experience in an authentic ambience. For dinner there was a good choice with three courses, all quite good, drinks included. The waiters were nimble, because there was a time limit until the beginning of the show. The Tango Show was surprisingly good and versatile with good live music. All around a successful evening.

El Aljibe Tango Show in Buenos Aires with Optional Dinner - Our Antarctica and Falklands Islands Expedition started upon our arrival to Argentina with a dinner followed by a dance, of which, achieved UNESCO World Heritage status, the Tango, which isn’t merely a performance, it’s a window into the history of the Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires. The stories about the origins of the name vary, but one thing remains consistent, it was born in the barrio of San Telmo. The show at El Aljibe is the Tango in its birthplace, performed in an unlikely setting, a former convent. The Argentine Tango is a partner dance and musical genre that originated in the late 19th century in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Montevideo, Uruguay. It is known for its close embrace, improvisation, and expressive connection between partners, with movements often involving a combination of fluid steps and quick footwork. Unlike competitive ballroom Tango. One disappointment - when the Waiter knocked my wife's knife off the table onto the floor, absolutely no attempt was made to replace the dirty knife - small but important details which really matter.

Very nice, but mediocre food - Very nice experience with the dancing and atmosphere. But keep in mind the food and wine were average.

A WONDERFUL IN EVERY SENSE. UNFORGETTABLE. - Spectacular. A marvel. We were TWO times, we loved it. We went on April 21, the place is very nice and the reception was magnificent. All the employees are eager to make sure you are well and their kindness is very great. The show is a mix of magnificently performed tango dances and tango music, and with many references to Astor Piazzolla as well, the bandeonist is simply exceptional. It had been a long time since I heard a musician like him live. Magnificent!. His interpretation and execution of “Adiós Nonino” by Piazzolla is simply exciting. I think I also play “Libertango”. The musicians are very good, but he stands out above all and acts as master of ceremonies. Perhaps what we liked least was the singer, who only fulfills her role with her interpretation of “Nostalgia” and some other song and “mi Buenos Aires Querido”, which closes the beautiful show. There is also a spectacular performance by a couple of pamperos, a man and a woman who are also spectacular playing drums legüeros, or the fabulous performance with the boleadoras. A marvel. Dinner is up to par. They have vegan menus. They recommend - to save time - a menu of empanadas that are delicious, then very good roast beef and a flan with dulce de leche that takes the hiccups away. Don Carlos always served us at the table, magnificently and precisely. Giving us wise advice and an entertaining conversation. Without interfering in any way with the vision of the show. A great professional. Like everyone else. Anyway, now, it was the most free time we had that April day (from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. more or less), and when we finished our beautiful tour of Argentina, on May 2, we REPEAT the show with dinner . Enjoying it as much or more than the first time. It was one of the best things we did on our trip through the immense country, on our trip and it will remain engraved in our hearts. If you ask me where to go see this type of show, I will tell you, suggest and shout: Aljibe!

Good show to start learning about tango - Space is limited in a theater like setting so tables were closely packed, I was sitting next to my wife and facing another couple at the table. We didn’t mind and the other couple was not too chatty. Dinner was of decent quality, you cannot expect gastronomy. The tango show was pleasing and interesting to watch. I am not sure it covered the deeper nuances, but that would probably require a full day workshop or so. If one of my friends were to go to Buenos Aires, I would recommend going.

Excellent Tango Show. Well worth experiencing. - The Tango show, singing and dancing, was outstanding! Great service. Food was good and wine was plentiful! Overcharged the stated price for photo, which was disappointing.
