Excellent day trip to Colonia del Sacramento - The guide was very knowledgeable about local history and culture, and was graceful working with both languages in the group—English and Portuguese. She gave some great recommendations for Uruguayan music. Lunch at ¡Que Tupé! was excellent—delicious ravioli! I stumbled onto the origami museum and loved it!

Worked For Us - Surprised to see so many negative reviews of this service but it worked for us.
Booked tickets via UK website. Collected boarding tickets via booking reference 90 minutes prior to departure then 15 minutes to get though Argentina then Uruguay customs. Similar experience coming back. Comfortable seats and quiet crossing.
Only negative was the disorganised queuing prior to departure.

Nice walk, explanation of the guide a little extensive - Check in at the BS As port was quick and enjoyable, there are places to sit and cafeteria, you can enter mate and cookies without problem to wait until the departure time. The boat very clean and spacious, has cafe (example a 2usd cafe), free shop and exchange house. If you want seats next to windows try to climb first. The ferry left and arrived at the stipulated time. Upon arrival there is the Enterprise stand to coordinate with the guide. Although we arrived 9.30 until 10 we did not leave the terminal because they had to expect that everyone from the excursion will score. And we finished the tour on the main avenue of downtown around 12 hours. While it was good to do the guided tour to learn about the history of the city, I think it extended a lot. In theory it says 50 min, and they should take it into account since after walking a little more and eating you must return to terminal 1.30 before the departure time of the ship (in our case 18.00 hs). Which means it's less time to tour during the afternoon. My advice is that if you take the tour with a guide you should opt to go early 8.30 and return with the 8.30 and maybe encourage yourself to do the tour alone. And go in time to check in to the port of Cologne because there are two companies in the same terminal takes a long time to migrate. (There were only one staff to serve Argentines and Uruguayans)

Perfect day trip solo or with friends - Very nice trip. Colonia is a quaint town. Everything has a history. Everyone is very nice. You can take many pics everywhere. The streets are lined with tall trees. Just pay with US dollars or Uruguay pesos. Don’t pay with Argentinian pesos, you’ll lose money

Great area to visit but not a typical tour - Like others have said, it’s a bit misleading. The tour part is a 1 hour overview of the area and you have the rest of the day on your own. That was fine for us but if you are alone and you have trouble walking on uneven streets , we forewarned. The Colonia de Sacramento area was nice either with many eating options. The boat trip you are on your own but follow directions and you will be fine. I was very impressed with both the Argentina and Uruguay passport control bring two desks next to each other. This made it very easy. The boats were on time. Be sure to check in 1.5 hours early as instructed.

Lovely Town/Disappointing Departure Processes. - Colonia is a quiet beautiful town but you will spend more time on this day tour at both ferry terminals than you will in town. Lourdes was a wonderful tour guide full of information and gave us the best advice to be back at the ferry terminal in Colonia 1.5 hours prior to departure. Good thing as the lines were wrapped around the inside of the building and no one provided any information as to what line was for what/who. Eventually after standing in line we got in the foreigner line which took forever especially when the 7 or so immigration officials cleared all of the Argentinian and Uruguayan passengers first who then boarded the boat. There were only 4 officials processing the foreigners with the other 7 officials who had done the residents not helping at all. Disappointing and the ferry company should invest in some signage so folks can figure things out.

Crappy Company - The worst company to deal with. I reserved 2 tickets on June 24, 2025 for July 11 ,2025 and when I checked my CC amount charged was Ridiculous High. 227.00 Dollars for 2 RT to Colonial Sacramento and as of today no credit on my Acct. I sent them like 7 emails and no response

An unforgettably bad day & full scam - -I honestly don’t know what I paid for in here: There was absolutely NO ONE at the ferry terminal in the morning, so you basically pay a big fee just to get the the ferry ticket. And that is all that is included to this ‘unforgettable day tour’
-in the description it said that there would be a walking tour included? There was absolutely no walk tour. I tried to text the operator twice to ask about that… This is a complete scam from TripAdvisor to even allow them to sell this tour. When there was no answer (in the 6 hours that we spent there and tried to get any contact???) we eventually took the earlier ferry back and paid for it on our own for 90 USD. So make yourself a favorit and don’t use this.
