- Plaza Dorrego - Once everyone is assembled, the group will proceed to the Feria de Antigüedades de San Pedro Telmo (San Pedro Telmo Antique Fair). This fair has been held every Sunday since 1970 in Plaza Dorrego and Calle Defensa, which are pedestrianized specifically for this traditional event each week. Over 10,000 visitors, including many international tourists, explore the 270 stalls every Sunday. The fair features orchestras playing music for tango dancers in the streets, live statues, and other street performers, along with the antiques and cultural significance, making it a must-visit.
- San Telmo Fair - Every Sunday morning since 1970, the San Pedro Telmo Antiques Fair begins to take shape on the pavement of Plaza Dorrego. More than 270 stalls are set up around the square and on Defensa Street, which becomes a pedestrian zone for the day. The fair attracts about 10,000 visitors each Sunday, with a significant number of tourists from around the globe. Visitors can find a wide variety of items, from furniture and artifacts to traditional Argentine crafts, clothing, and leather goods.
- Mercado de San Telmo - The tour will continue to the Mercado de San Telmo (San Telmo Market) for those interested in purchasing original and unique souvenirs.
- Feria de Mataderos - The group will then head to the southwestern part of the city to visit Feria de Mataderos, one of the city’s most important yet lesser-known fairs. This fair has become a traditional weekend destination for those wishing to connect with Argentine countryside traditions. Established 30 years ago, this unique fair celebrates ‘gaucho’ culture and features three main areas and a food court: Artesanías tradicionales, Festival Artístico, and Destrezas Gauchescas. Each Sunday, various activities take place here.
Upon arrival at the fair, visitors will notice the abundance of parrillas (grills) where delicious meats and other typical dishes are prepared. The tour includes a delightful lunch featuring traditional foods such as empanadas.
Both crafts and regional foods (jams, liqueurs, cheeses, and alfajores) are available at more affordable prices than in the more central, touristy shops. Occasionally, visitors can watch horse races or participate in tango classes!
- Museo Criollo de los Corrales - Following this, there will be free time to explore the Museo Criollo de los Corrales. This rural-style museum offers insight into the lives of gauchos in the pampas, showcasing their clothing, tools, and everyday items. The museum also highlights Argentina’s rise as a leading meat exporter, displaying traditional knives, weapons, carts, animals, and rural paintings.
- Defensa 831 - At approximately 5:00 PM, about three hours later, the group will return to the starting point at the Tangol offices in San Telmo.
