Metal workshop visit - An excellent experience of a family metal workshop. With lots of opportunity to get hands on with hammers and red hot metal. We made gurkka knives. The guide was knowledgeable, open and friendly. A real insight into how people live off the tourist strip. You should probably not wear your best outfits.

MUST DO - I can’t even begin to state how incredible this experience was. You forge a knife out of an old bus spring - incredible. We almost didn’t do the experience due to time restrictions while traveling but that would have been a mistake! This experience is a MUST DO.

Great time making a kukuri! - A person met me outside my Airbnb & we took a taxi they arranged to the kukuri making location that was a small, rustic and authentic workshop. The knife making master & his family/assistants were all friendly, accommodating & easy to work with. I went away with an attractive, useful kukuri. It was a fascinating experience.

Making of my own Khukuri - I hade a great experience making my own knife. I massaged them in the morning and was able to make it in the afternoon. The knife came out razor sharp and I already used it for cooking and carving wood. Thanks for this unforgettable expierence.

Souvenir of a lifetime! - This is a special experience. You will be involved in the process including hammering and grinding. Don’t worry if you’re not sure about handling things because Indra and Prakash will take care of everything. Namrata the tour guide is a real treat. She accompanied me through out the 6 hour tour. She provided a meal break of puffed rice and grilled buffalo meat. You can opt for other food items as well. I can’t say enough about her wonderful personality. I would suggest people with walking issues consider there are steep steps leading to the shop. Also, I wouldn’t recommend for small children.

Very fun, genuine people, lasting memory, and great souvenir! - Had an amazing time making a traditional Nepalese knife. The family and guide were very welcoming and it was fun talking and learning with them throughout the whole process. I got a hands on experience in all steps of the process while the experts made sure that each step finished with quality. Please don't miss out on a great experience to learn and participate in this traditional Nepalese knife making. It's a great way to give back to the local community and learn and experience the knife making process. Lifelong souvenir!

Fun time - Fun experience with right balance of interactivity / getting to work the knife myself vs. getting to observe the blacksmith, Indra, in his craft. Both the guide and Indra were professional and provided cheery company and conversation (I ended up being the only one for my time slot). It was great getting to go to an actual workshop and be able to get my hands dirty.
