• Vajdahunyad Castle (Vajdahunyadvar) - Located on Széchenyi Island in City Park, Vajdahunyad Castle is a distinctive and captivating landmark, attracting countless tourists annually. It was used as a filming location for “The Witcher,” representing the wizard Stregobor’s courtyard.
• Andrassy Avenue - Walking tour: Andrássy Avenue, established in 1872, connects Erzsébet Square with Városliget. This boulevard, lined with stunning Neo-renaissance mansions and townhouses, was designated a World Heritage Site in 2002. It is a major shopping street in Budapest, featuring elegant cafes, restaurants, theatres, embassies, and luxury boutiques. Notable buildings include the State Opera House, the Zoltán Kodály Memorial Museum and Archives, the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, and the Ferenc Hopp Museum of East Asian Arts.
• St. Stephen’s Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika) - St. Stephen’s Basilica is a significant church in Hungary, named after St. Stephen, the founder of the Hungarian state. In the movie “The Spy,” Melissa McCarthy made a speedy getaway on her red scooter in front of this building, offering a perfect photo opportunity.
• Párisi Passage Restaurant - The Párisi Passage Café and Restaurant are situated in the award-winning, enchanting Párisi Udvar Hotel. A scene from the 2011 film adaptation of Le Carré’s novel “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” was filmed here. Visitors can enjoy a meal while admiring the beautiful surroundings.
• Madame Tussauds Budapest - Immerse yourself in an exciting scene with one of Hollywood’s top actresses! Hop on a bike with a leading action movie star, but hold on tight! Assist the director on the set of ET’s iconic scene! Snap selfies with figures of Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, and Steven Spielberg! All of this can be experienced at the panopticon in the city center, not with real-life movie stars.
