Our tour guide was... - Our tour guide was excellent. I’d recommend the long tour as it provided a more comprehensive experience overall about the Jewish quarter. As an example of the richer experience I would never had even thought to look for street markers showing the boundary of the ghetto.

History brought to life in this informative and moving tour with Milan - Very informative and moving in-depth tour of 2 historic synagogues and the Jewish Quarter. Milan's knowledge of the history and traditions was especially welcome. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the Jewish experience in Budapest in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

The guide was very... - The guide was very knowledgeable but the group was way too large…40 people. This made it very difficult to get close enough to hear especially since there were no headsets provided. This was not the guides fault. He did the best he could but the tour group was way too big.

Expensive and poor value - This is one of the important places to visit in Budapest, so we were keen to see it. Our first shock was the price to get in, 29,000 HUF for 2, which was about £73 at the exchange rate in June. We are seniors and there was no discount unlike many other places we visited. Having decided to pay, the next surprise was the rudeness of the ticket and security staff, neither very welcoming. The third surprise was the tour guide described as ‘free’, they really mean ‘included’. He gave quite a brief explanation in the synagogue followed by a brief stop at the cemetery and Tree of Life, barely 20minutes. After he left we were free to look around without limit which was good. The exhibition about the Ghetto was interesting, although not well displayed, for example a video presentation was at the entry to an alcove with no seats, so when a crowd stood around other visitors had to push past them to see the wall displays in the alcove. The museum had some interesting artefacts about Jewish culture and life. As we arrived at one area, a group went in and put a chair across the entrance preventing us from continuing the exhibition which was annoying. In conclusion, there were parts of this that were very interesting, but overall poor value for money. We can’t help feeling that the price will exclude many people and families when we all should be able to reflect on the horrors of the past.

Unfortunately, just not... - Unfortunately, just not an engaging experience. The tour guide was quite monotonous and didn't handle a large group well, taking far too many questions, which should have been covered by the narrative of his tour. Pace was quite slow and didn't engage our group, neither the grandparents nor the grandchildren.
