The lights of Budapest - The dream of a lifetime and didn’t disappoint. Lovely comfortable boat, lovely staff and a decent glass of Prosecco. The views of Budapest's lights were exactly as imagined and just stunning. Got some great photos. Something to do in summer though when the windows can be opened so no reflections from the glass.

Amazing River Cruise - A visit to Budapest would not be complete without a cruise along the river. There were many operators, but we found Legenda (Dock 7) to have what appeared to be the biggest operation with an indoor dock that others did not seem to have. We took the first evening cruise, 4:30pm, in late November. The roughly one-hour cruise was amazing with the city lit up beautifully. The boat had 2 decks with headphones at each seat for an audio guide available in many languages. As it was cold out, the windows were closed, and most people stayed inside. There was a small outdoor section at the rear of the boat that only a handful of us were brave enough to sit in. To take great pictures, you will need to be outdoors to avoid reflection from the windows. Despite being “off-season” in November, our boat was quite full and other times were sold out by the evening. You can buy tickets online or buy them at the dock for later times to ensure you have a spot. Most of the cruises were for the evening while there were only a handful during the day.

Very romantic, highly recommended! - The cruise lasted an hour, departure and arrival very punctual on the riverside from pier no. 7. I found it very romantic, the boat is new and clean, very beautiful, the staff on board is very kind, they provide you with an audio guide where you can choose the language, it is equipped with a very large monitor from which you can they see the monuments and buildings that the boat is passing by but in the interior, and shortly after departure they offer a drink, a choice of prosecco, tonic water, beer, fruit juice. It was a beautiful experience, it's worth doing, you see the city from another perspective, with the bridges and main monuments illuminated at sunset and then in the evening (I chose the one at 7.30pm). Too bad for the young lady at the ticket office, very rude and unsympathetic, annoyed by the fact that I didn't speak English, despite the fact that I had had the tour booked directly by telephone by my guide and in Hungarian, just to avoid any misunderstandings.

Good experience but not spectacular - Recommend arriving early if you are taking the night time cruise. We took the 8:20 pm one and the buildings didn’t light up until almost the end of the cruise. When we got off at 9:20 pm, the line for the next cruise was crazy. The experience overall was good. The cruise has audio and video. However the video and audio doesn’t necessarily sync up with the actual trip as some times they are showing something that the cruise has not passed. There is only one drink per person. It got a little cold so I recommend bringing a light jacket.

Great value and informative - Ir was wonderful to learn so much about Budapest in a relaxed environment. The lights of the city were beautiful

Amazing experience, bad audio guide - Very beautiful view (we went at night). All the buildings on each side of the river were lit up and reflected in the water. There's both an option to sit inside and outside. However, the audio guide was really weird and didn't really have an intro. It talked about buildings we couldn't see and very confusing.

Just Walk the Danube Instead? - My wife and I went on the evening cruise for photo opportunities and to take in the beauty of Budapest at night. Another factor to our experience is that we were visiting in an unseasonably hot June. Here’s a post mortem of our experience: 1. The crowds push onto the boat in a mad rush to get the seats with the best views. If you’re not prepared for this, or you don’t come super early or are just trying to have a relaxed evening, you’ll likely get a less than ideal seat. The initial direction leading up to the dock is unclear, so even groups that came along later cut ahead in the queue in front of everyone else with no staff to mitigate 2. It was stiflingly hot. Even when the boat moves, there is little to no cross breeze. This isn’t the fault of the cruise, but something that must me considered 3. The seats to the front (the first 3-4 rows from the captain’s bridge) have glass that impedes the view. The glass on the 2-3rd rows is triple pane because it’s a collection point for the rest of the open windows. Not only is it difficult to see out, but the glass was smeared with fingerprints and grime, making it all the more difficult to see, let alone take any decent photos Ultimately, my experience was tainted by people, weather and the position of our seats. Armed with this foreknowledge, I would be in a better position to improve the ride. That being said, I would much rather prefer a leisurely stroll from either side of the riverbank, weather permitting.

Efficient, yet not a repeat option - Unable to get pictures through the marred windows, poor quality speaker system and quite noisy. We did love seeing the beautiful lit buildings, but, due to river traffic, another reason photography was sub par.

Hot, inside boat. Don't believe the picture. - The picture is misleading. There are a lot of beautiful outside boats on the river - this is not one of them. There is just a very small outdoor area, almost all of the seating is inside a glass enclosed boat that is very hot and has no windows that open or airflow. The tour is pre-recorded audio that is not really a tour but some history of Budapest that every once in a while talks about things on the shoreline that don't like up with where the boat actually is. Choose a different boat. This one isn't great.
