Comprehensive visit to Buda Castle area - The guide was very welcoming to the group . She was excited to share her in-depth knowledge of Budapest and the sights visited. The tour included a detailed explanation of the history and architecture and its symbolism of Mathias Church as well as an extensive visit inside to the chapels and gallery. Without this narrative it would be impossible to gain the insight to understand the historical significance of. Gained a better understanding of the significance of the Fisherman’s Bastion in regard to its historical placement and design. We were guided to all the areas in the Castle District getting to view the Prime Minister’s and Presidents office locations. Gained an understanding of the ongoing construction and changes being made to restore the area to its former glory. Viewed the vistas from multiple locations . Spent time at the actual former royal residence becoming familiar with the current and future uses of the buildings. Visited the major sculptures around the area and the funicular. Highly recommend.

Visit to Castle Hill District - Monica was an excellent guide and educated us about the history of the of the Castle District. She made efficient use of time and thoroughly answered our questions. We definitely saw sights on the tour that we would not have found on our own. It was also interesting to hear her experiences about growing up in Budapest in the pre-EU era. Highly recommend!

Great guide, great location (despite poor whether...) - A great guide, who had a lot of knowledge and was answering all our questions in a friendly and patient way.
Despite bad whether, we enjoyed the tour and learned a lot.
Hopefully we can repeat the tour with better visibility

Fun and informative light walking tour - especially if you want information about the church! - Petra was a great guide and was very informative! Spent some time getting to know the group but focused heavily on the history of the Castle District and St. Matthias Church. Worth the $, positive experience.

Engaging, Fun, and Informative Tour - This was a fantastic tour! Petra was a wonderful guide—informative, entertaining, and personable with everyone on the tour. She brought the history of Buda Castle to life in an engaging way and made the walk both educational and fun. I would definitely take this tour again and highly recommend it to others visiting Budapest.

Must do in Budapest - Monika gave us a brilliant, knowledgeable tour of the Matthias Church and its surrounds explaining its historical relevance and restoration. We then walked through to the Buda Palace where she again covered the various incarnations of Buda, all the way from the original pre medieval settlement, through the various empires and occupations, to its present EU membership.
Our time in Budapest was limited and this tour was certainly worthwhile, especially being guided by someone who grew up in Buda and had local knowledge of its history and personal experience of many of the changes that have occurred. Thank you Monika.

In works - It was all in work. Didn't like anything. The view of Pest from here is beautiful. But I was disappointed not to visit the castle.

Scam - I booked the tour on line for Buda Castle and when we arrived no one from viator was there and the workers at the facility said it was a scam and the tour only costs a few euros and we were charged $137.00. It was a long walk there up hill - very disappointing.
