Worth the money but calling it Draculas castle is misleading - Peles castle was amazing. worth the trip by itself. Brasov is a lovely city, also worth visiting and quite renowned by the locals. Bran castle was pretty cool, but its links to Dracula are so minor, calling it Dracula's castle is very misleading. It's a shame its been used in such manner along with the local Dracula based market but it is what it is and it was still worth going there. Even the picture in this experience isn't brans castle but Peles. As long as you are aware of all this you will enjoy the experience.

Great tour - I have just got back from the tour and the first thing I wanted to do was write a review to talk about what an incredible day I have had , there is so much to see and do the town is beautiful very breathtaking, VLADUT was an amazing guide very knowledgeable I learnt so much and made a very long journey so enjoyable and exciting it felt like an adventure not boring just very interesting a very passionate guide

Friendly, informative, and fun - I went on the tour with a tour guide who went by Riga. He was a passionate patriotic Romanian, which as an American, I respect a lot. The cadence he spoke with was more like an excited friend than a tour guide which added to the authenticity of the experience. Plus, he was very clear and honest about everything. The castles were fantastic, Dracula's Castle had a spooky ambience, and the food in Brasov was some of the best I've had. Everyone on the tour was friendly, including the locals at the places we visited. Side note: Ursus is absolutely an underrated commercial beer. Make sure you get some for the full experience. God bless Romania and God bless America.

Amazing full day trip - Amazing full-day trip from Bucharest! We visited Bran Castle, Peleș Castle and Brașov – everything was well organized and the places were absolutely beautiful. Our guide Julian was fantastic – friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this tour!

Long day, but worth it! - Fantastic experience with Emanuel as our tour guide. This trip is a long day! The trip to and from Bucharest is about three hours each way. Time between castles and Braşov adds another two hours on the bus. Kudos to Emanuel for rolling with last minute schedule changes for Bran castle, and for ensuring the safety of passengers when we needed to change buses. These issues were handled seamlessly by Emanuel and he made sure we accomplished everything this trip promised. Super guide! As for the overall trip - a bit too long. We could have skipped the visit to Braşov for our eventual late lunch and, instead, dined in one of the many places adjacent to Bran Castle. Braşov is a cute town but, imo, the added time for this stop was not worth it. Overall, if you're wanting to see the castles from Bucharest, this is your way!

Felt like an artificially fast tour - do quick or you'll miss the bus! - The overall trip took 12 hours, 7 of which we were on the bus. The road took a really long time, and it was very tiring. The guide was telling stories on the road while many people were sleeping and therefore could not hear him. The biggest red flag for me was selling student-level castle tickets to adults at a cost of 40 euros for 2 castles. We thought that the prices were fair, especially since this is a guided tour, so we'll also hear the guide's stories. On the spot, it turned out that when they said "2 castles," they meant Bran Castle and Pelisor Castle (not Peles, which was actually the most beautiful of the 3 and the one that should be visited). The guided tour, by the way, was only for the Pelisor castle (a very exaggerated castle in terms of sights). In Bran Castle, we were left alone to walk through the rooms by ourselves. We didn't hear the story behind it on the bus, as like almost everyone we were sleeping. Just go and check their official website for ticket prices. The student ticket for Bran is 60 RON and for Pelisor is for 7,5 RON, which together make just 12-13 euros, not 40! If we compare the adult ticket prices, still for 2 castles, together they make 130 RON (24-25 euros). See how much they earned in between on us?! The second red flag was the timing. The trip suggests 2 hours stop at Peles. We stopped only for 1:30 or 1:45 and were strictly advised to be back on time if we did not want to be left there. Because of the guide, we spent quite a lot of time on Pelisor castle, waiting outside for 15 or more minutes for a lady to open the door and then walking through the corridors of a secondary castle. As the tickets that we bought from the guide did not include Peles castle, we bought them on the place and when we were out of the castle (which we looked through veery quickly) we found that we had less than 15 minutes left to be next to the bus. The road from Peles castle to the car parking is an uphill road taking like 10-15 minutes to walk, and as soon as you get there, rushing to be on time, you find yourself breathing out of your lungs! At Brasov, we were given 1:15-1:30 hours during which we could just do some very quick lunch and walk on the main street only (which is quite a short street by the way). To get back, again we had to almost run to not be late. At Bran castle, we were given something like 1:15 hours. So the tour was mainly about rushing from one place to another, sweating and breathing out of lungs to not be late for the bus and trying to see as much as possible. Just be aware when booking this trip that you are going to visit these places just for some check marks. Also, before the tour we were sent an email with some rough costs of the tour, and when I asked about the types of tickets (general admission, combo tickets, etc. - like the official castle websites offer), they didn't answer precisely to my message, referring to read the 1st message again. Before the tour they were very responsive via email, doing their best to communicate. But after the tour ended, you can never hear back from them! We actually bought tickets for one day, which turned out to be so heavily raining in the morning that we couldn't even get out of the hotel to reach the picking point, so we wrote the tour manager about this, asking them to reschedule our trip for the next day due to a force major situation. They didn't answer us, obviously. So we bought another trip for the next day, and later, when we were back asked for a refund, which we didn't get, obviously. We paid twice for a tour which was made so poorly that 100+ people left a review of 1, and now, when I read them, I relate to them so much! Forgot to say that on the day of our tour, when the bus moved from the meeting point, after like 10-15 seconds, some people reached the bus, running, and asking to open the door; they were late for just a few seconds. The tour guide never opened the door, reasoning that they'll be fined by the police if they open the door mid-way. While they could simply drive a bit forward, stop where they can for just 10 seconds, and pick up those people. I imagine their frustration. I was frustrated myself being on the bus!

Lovely places but bad activity provider - First of all, I wanted to purchase the tickets for Peleș Castle and Bran Castle directly from their official websites at a lower price. However, I was unable to do so because the tour company misled me regarding the itinerary. The tour company had described the route as Peleș Palace – Brașov – Bran Castle, but on the actual day of the tour, the route was carried out as Bran – Brașov – Peleș. When purchasing tickets for Peleș Palace and Bran Castle through their official websites, you are required to select a specific time slot. For Bran Castle, missing the selected time slot does not make much difference, especially on less crowded weekdays. However, Peleș is a royal palace and is subject to much stricter rules. At Peleș, you must enter the palace at the selected time slot. Had the tour followed the itinerary as advertised, I could have purchased tickets for the earliest time slot at Peleș and visited the palace without any issue. But since the itinerary was changed, I could not estimate when we would arrive at Peleș, so I was unable to buy the ticket myself. In order to guarantee entry to Peleș, I was compelled to purchase the tour company’s tickets, which were 2 times more expensive than the official ticket prices. As a result, for our group of 3 people, instead of paying 225 RON (44.20 EUR) for Peleș and 230 RON (45 EUR) for Bran — a total of 89.20 EUR — I ended up paying 160 EUR due to the itinerary change. (If there had been one more adult instead of my child in our group, we would have paid 180 EUR.) Moreover, before the trip, I contacted the activity provider, One Excellence Tours, for three consecutive days asking whether we would visit Peleș first, because I intended to buy my Peleș ticket accordingly. They never answered my question. However, they had previously responded to my question regarding whether my daughter could join the tour. (Their own website stated an age limit of 11, whereas Viator did not mention any age restriction, and later they told me the minimum age was actually 7.) Secondly, when purchasing tickets from the activity provider, it is promised that the tickets will include “skip-the-line” access. However, at Bran Castle we still had to wait in the normal queue. At Peleș as well, I cannot say that we experienced any noticeable privilege. Thirdly, the guide changed the departure times at all three stops we visited. Fourthly, while explaining Brașov, the guide did not even mention the famous narrow street. Only when we specifically asked did he say it was not really necessary to see, but if we wanted to go, he gave directions. When we arrived, the street was closed. It was obvious that the guide had not visited that location in a very long time. Finally, before entering Peleș and Bran, the guide did not take into account the restroom needs of the group. After long journeys (a couple hours each), taking our daughter to the restroom was our priority, but since the guide was holding our tickets, we could not separate from the group and experienced difficulties. I am sure that other families with children and elderly participants also faced similar problems. Despite all of this, Bran Castle, the city of Brașov, and Peleș Palace are all places truly worth visiting. All in all, beware of the activity provider One Excellence Tours if you are planning to purchase tickets from the official websites for fairer prices and do not expect them to respond to your queries.

Great tour, terrible tour guide - Avoid this trip if you want to buy your own castle entry tickets - you will be singled out! The route was well thought-out, hitting 3 key spots in Transylvania, with Bran Castle being a particular highlight for me. Unfortunately, my day was spoilt by being treated like a second rate citizen by the tour guide - Marius. I decided to purchase my own tickets online to both castles, which cost me £14 as a student, rather than the €40 student ‘deal’ the tour provider offered. The provider price of Bran Castle entry was double what I paid online, and Peles Castle was over 6x the price. I completely understand and accept a small surcharge for the convenience of having your tickets arranged for you, but this is pure greed and unacceptable. The extra cost of Peles Castle is supposedly justified by Marius’ personal guided tour, whereas Bran Castle is self-guided. On arrival at Peles Castle, Marius organised the group so that those who had paid the obscene amount for his guided tour had green stickers on their phone to signify who had purchased a ticket i.e., it was clear who had booked with the tour provider and who had self-organised. Another member of the group and I moved to the back of the queue, ready with our QR codes to scan our own tickets in. When we followed the group into the entryway, Marius shut the door firmly in my face and demanded I wait outside. After waiting for a few minutes to allow him to organise the group, I opened the door and went to join the (entirely separate) concessions queue with my student ticket. As soon as the door was opened, Marius began to shout at full volume, “No! No! No! Get back outside!” I found this incredibly humiliating as 32 other members of the tour group were stood there watching this unfold. I tried to contest, explaining that I was joining a different queue to the group due to my student ticket, but he would not listen and ushered me back outside. Once he had conducted his tour, he did make an effort to go to apologise to the other member of the tour group who he had shouted at, and then made his way towards me. Rather than an apology, I received a brusque, “Excuse me” as he moved past me. I am in genuine disbelief that this is what he considers an acceptable level of customer service. To add insult to injury, I cannot look back on this trip without it being overshadowed by the incessant droning of Marius. I’m sure what he said was of interest, but the way in which it was delivered (long-winded and over detailed) unfortunately sent me to sleep. From the start of the day, he was very persuasive about participants joining the Peles Castle tour rather than Bran, and I can’t help but feel this is because he loves the sound of his own voice and couldn’t wait to have his time to shine. Despite this, I would still recommend the tour itself, but if you arrive and your guide is Marius, turn back around and go back home.
