Very long day but well worth the experience - We booked this tour prior to our holiday and it didn’t disappoint. The order we went in was Draculas castle is the first to see, our coach stopped of for a toilet break about an hour into the journey. Adrian our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the castle which was quiet interesting to listen too. The castle has various floors with very narrow stair cases to get to the top but what an experience. You go through a little market place before you get to the castle so souvenirs are plentiful. Next Braşov, beautiful place, we had 1 hour 45 minutes at this destination, options are enjoy the scenery and have lunch or take the cable car to the top of the mountain for panoramic views. Great idea!! If you have problems with back pain, mobility this is not the option for you. We had to walk approx 500 yards up a steep incline and then lots of stairs going higher and higher until you get to the cable car station, 1 minute in this and you are at the top of the mountain with the views as promised. There is the Panaramic bar that serves ice cold drinks and food if you have the time. This would be a nice afternoon tour if there was an option as if you do the cable car there is not much time to take in the square around you and its beautiful surroundings. Next was Peles Castle (pelish) another beautiful castle, this one being more for there Queen and king, all valuables, weapons and furniture are still here, this is 2 floors so not as bad as the previous sights. This is a long full day but well worth the time and effort with all the walking, but to see Dracula’s castle it was worth it.

Must Do!!! - Laura was the tour guide and did an excellent job. The trip was long and worth spending the day doing. Peles Castle was sold out online but you were able to purchase directly from the tour bus and it also included Laura narrating which provided so much knowledge that would have been missed. The only thing that could make it better was more time in Brasov, we did get 1.5 hours. The tour was great and ended up being 13.5 hours total, this is due to the traffic.

Pele brasov and bran - Peles castle was nice to look around, it was about an hour waiting to get in and this is off season. Brasov is a beautiful town and definitely worth a visit, we picked up delicious focaccia and handmade pottery Bran castle has leant more into Dracula and less into Queen Marie, leaving a gimmicky feeling and very chaotic. The tour buses also seemed to arrive at the same place at the same time instead of staggered arrival, so prepare to queue! Adrian was a friendly tour guide albeit quiet at some points, but a fun guide, especially his take on why he & Dracula aren’t allowed together! we also didn’t do the other drive by spots if we did they weren’t mentioned, but Adrian point out Wednesdays filming location on the drive due to the slow traffic.

A Long Tour - The tour started 44 minutes late because the driver did not have some documents. The microphone did not work and they stoped the bus to fix it. So the tour did take 12 hours. As other noted, the guide collected 60 euros for entrance fees to the castles, which everyone paid. But one could certainly buy tickets at the gates cheaply, as there was no one in the ticket lines. Peles Castle is more interesting. I would suggest an overnight stay in Brasov, which is a very nice town. If I did not book a nonrefundable hotel room in Bucharest, I would do an independent trip to see all these places.

Chaotic but worth it - First of all, this trip was worth doing, and our guide Daniel and driver George were both great. At about 20:00 the night before, I got an email with all the ground rules written in quite a blunt manner, along with two optional packages. To get into Peles Castle with a guide, through the company, was €20 pp. For this plus entry only (no guide) to Dracula's Castle was €60. To buy your ticket online for Peles without a guide is more or less €20 and Dracula's Castle is €24, so they bumped up Dracula's Castle by €16 pp. Although it is doable to buy your own tickets online, and people did, you need to book in a specific time slot which is difficult when you're at the mercy of the roads, driver and guide. The email also stated they wanted the fee in cash. I didn't read the email until I was in bed, so I then had to set my alarm even earlier to give me time to get to an ATM the next morning. It would have been nice to get the email a bit sooner, and in not such a reprimanding tone. The email stated, again very bluntly, that we had to get to get to the pick up point 15 min early and anyone who wasn't there come 07:00 when the coach leaves would be left behind. We managed to keep our end of the deal, but the coach was 10-15 minutes late, so we'd been standing around for about half an hour before it arrived, although I realise this may have been beyond the control of the driver. That half hour was very chaotic, as a number of coaches use the same meet up point and time. Given each coach holds maybe 50 people, and there must have been about five coaches - there was a lot of people scrambling to find their coach. It was helpful that the email stated our coach's registration number. When we actually got on our coach, there looked to be almost another coach load of people outside who had apparently missed their coach. I don't know what came of them, but I am sure they didn't get to see the castles that day. It was very easy to miss your coach in the chaos. We then sat in the coach for an hour without moving. Part of this was our guide dealing with those who had missed theirs. It turns out that the police had also stopped the coach to run checks. Although I was close enough to the front to overhear Daniel telling this to those around him, it would have been nice to have this delay announced to over the microphone for those sitting further back. Seeing both castles and Brasov was great, although very busy. We had plenty of time at all three of the destinations. Unfortunately, although we waited some time for Daniel to catch up at Peles Castle, we gave up and went on, meaning we missed the tour he apparently gave of it. He was however full of information on the coach, which was wonderful. Despite the frenzied start, it was worth the trip to see the castles and a bit more of the country beyond the capitol.

Beautiful sights, but some logistical room for improvement - We had an okay day exploring some beautiful locations. Our tour guide was very pleasant, and we certainly appreciate that organizing such a large group with many different nationalities is a difficult task! However, there were a few logistical points we feel could be improved: Peles Castle & Logistics: We arrived early, but because tickets weren't pre-booked, we waited between 60 to 90 minutes in the cold without many updates. It felt a bit disorganized trying to find our group among the crowds. We’d suggest the company look into pre-booking to avoid these long waits for future guests. Bran (Dracula’s) Castle: A stunning photo opportunity! We felt the 300 Lei per person charge for both castles was a bit high compared to standard entry prices (90–100 Lei), especially as large groups often qualify for discounts. Communication: Our email advised "cash only," but cards were accepted on board. Consistent info would help with planning. The Journey: The bus had very limited legroom for the 3-hour return trip. Highlights: We highly recommend the cable car during the lunch break! The price was good, the queue was short, and the views were the highlight of our day. Advice for travelers: Do your homework on fees and be prepared for a very early start (before 7:00 AM) with quite a bit of standing around.

Cancelled half of us less than 12 hours before - This was a group booking for 16 made via the Viator telephone line as I was only able to book 8 on line. I received an email with 2 bookings for 8 I again contacted Viator who confirmed this was a group booking for 16. We duly booked a hotel near the pick up point (Zeus Central 300 meters from pick up) and travelled from the UK for this specific tour scheduled for Friday 6th March 07.00 hrs. We arrived at the venue at 06.45hrs to establish that we were not booked on any of the buses at the location however the municipal transport officer told us one bus had left early. There were several other small groups at the venue in a similar position to ourselves. We were unable to get any information from the tour guides and returned to the hotel and even with the exceptional assistance from the hotel reception were un able to contact the operator. I returned to my room checked my email to find an email from Viator in my spam timed 19.33hrs Thursday 5th March cancelling one booking of 8 people and offering a refund of that booking of 8 only. This cancellation was made less than 12hrs before booked trip and we were already in country as a group of 16. I contacted Viator requesting a full refund as this was for 16 not 8 they have declined. If i had cancelled less than 24 hrs I would have lost all the groups (16) payments. Very I will continue to attempt get my money back

Fraud excursion Headout Bran Castle, Bucharest - We buy tickets through the official Headout website on the night of the 2nd to make the excursion on the 3rd of March taking as a pick-up point the Novotel Bucharest City Center offered by the website paying the amount requested in advance on the same page. On the morning of the tour we change the pickup point by WhatsApp message to another pickup point more or less nearby. When we arrived at the new meeting point we were greeted by a guide who did the tour in English since ours was with guide in Spanish, after signing us up as presented he told us that he had to leave with his group and to wait for a brown bus that would do the tour with Spanish guide. After waiting an hour at the new meeting point agreed, no one appeared and we were left lying. I contacted them first by phone and there was no way to understand them taking the decision to do so by chat with a bot who after identifying us through the booking reference and email apologize and who will investigate what happened with the local partner and who will shortly send us explanations to the email address provided. I also ask for cancellation of the excursion and refund of the charge made. At this time, when 8 hours have passed, we are still waiting for an explanation and the refund of the amount paid. We've been ruined for one day of our vacation and unacceptably teased. They're scoundrels, crooks and scammers. I do not recommend it at all.
