Today, the castle serves as a significant museum in Transylvania, showcasing furniture, ornamental objects, carpets, tapestries, sculptures, paintings, and weapon collections from the 15th to the 19th centuries.
• Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - Continue the journey to Bran and delve into the true history and legends of Count Dracula. Explore the famous Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle, situated 25 kilometers from Brasov at the entrance of the Bran – Rucar passage. The castle gained fame from Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel “Dracula” and was later adapted into a film by Francis Ford Coppola. The earliest records of Bran Castle date back to 1377. Throughout history, the castle served a strategic role as the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. Initially under the rule of King Sigismund of Luxembourg of Hungary, it later came under the Romanian voivodes Mircea the Elder and Vlad the Impaler, eventually falling under the jurisdiction of the City of Brasov. In 1912, it was gifted by the municipality of Brasov to the Romanian royal family to become their residence.
• Brasov Historical Center - Proceed to Brasov, where you will have free time to explore the old town. Since 1520, the City Council Square has been the heart of Brasov for centuries, hosting merchants and craftsmen from Transylvania, Wallachia, and even the Near East and Europe. The side streets of the Square were named after the types of goods traded, such as The Wheat Fair, The Cloth Row, The Butnar Fair, The Linen Fair, The Cotton Row, or The Coats Fair.

The Square is encircled by houses built in Renaissance, Baroque, Provincial, and Neo-classic styles, which once housed small shops and warehouses.

The Square is dominated by the impressive Council Hall building.

The medieval fortress of Brasov was one of the most secure in Europe, featuring stone walls, 32 defense towers, 8 bulwarks, and 4 fortified gates. The towers served both defensive and observational purposes. During the tour, you’ll see the preserved old wall, Black and White Towers, and the Weaver’s Bastion – the largest and best-preserved bastion.

Ecaterina’s Gate, located near the Schei Gate in the western part of the Fortress, was built in 1559 in the Renaissance style. It features a sharp tower and four small towers, symbolizing the medieval right of life and death over vassals (the right of the broadsword). The gate also had firing vents and a drawbridge with chains, making it one of the most fortified gates in the city.
