Embark on a classic car tour featuring a fully restored Dacia, retracing both the geographical and emotional journey of Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife Elena on December 22, 1989, the day they lost their supreme power. On that day, at 12:07 PM, Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife fled by helicopter from the roof of the Communist Party Headquarters, escaping the wrath of 100,000 people demanding his resignation.
With the intention of regrouping and reclaiming his nearly 24-year hold on Romania, Nicolae Ceausescu headed towards Pitesti to seek support from the working class and the army. However, he was captured later that day near Târgoviște. This tour will delve into the critical moments of President Ceausescu’s journey along a 180 km route to the site of his execution.
Participants will visit the Museum of the Execution of Nicolae Ceausescu in Targoviste, where he was detained, tried, and executed. Ticket is included.
