Day 1: Bucharest - Bucegi Mountains - Poiana Marului

Bucharest - The operator will pick guests up from the airport or their location in Bucharest and embark on a 3-hour drive north towards Predeal. The journey begins off the beaten path to Diham Cottage, showcasing the stunning landscapes of the Bucegi Mountains. Guests will marvel at the spectacular peaks of “Coltii Morarului,” also known as the Teeth of Dracula, while enjoying a cup of coffee amidst the impressive mountain views. The tour then proceeds towards Rasnov, continuing the 4x4 adventure to reach Poiana Marului village. After lunch, guests will explore the off-road areas of Poiana Marului, taking in breathtaking views of the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains. Away from the world’s hustle and bustle, guests will experience tranquility and calmness. The village’s charming scenery will captivate visitors with its fairy tale-like atmosphere. In the evening, guests will arrive at cozy accommodations at an altitude of 1100m, ending the day with a delicious Romanian dinner and a taste of traditional local drinks.

Day 2: Poiana Marului – Traditional Villages – Fundatica – Poiana Marului

Poiana Marului - In the morning, the tour departs from Poiana Marului, with a 15-minute drive to Zarnesti. Optionally, guests can enjoy a short walk through the Zarnesti Canyon, breathing in the fresh mountain air in the setting of the “Cold Mountain” movie. Following this, a relaxing 4x4 tour through the rolling hills of Magura and Pestera traditional villages awaits. Guests can rest their eyes on the captivating scenery of the Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Mountains. Here, they will discover the authentic rural life of Romania, a land of rolling hills, remote village roads, and traditional wooden houses.

Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - Guests have the option to visit Bran (Dracula’s) Castle or Simon Hermitage. The 4x4 tour continues through the enchanting landscapes of the Bran Pass, reaching Fundatica, the highest traditional village in Romania, at an altitude of 1360 m. From the hilltop, the tour proceeds through Key Valley Canyon, where guests can enjoy a zip line crossing over a spectacular landscape. After savoring a cup of coffee by the river and soaking in the sounds of nature, the tour returns to the accommodation in Poiana Marului.

Day 3: Poiana Marului - Tabla Butii Ridge – Bucharest

Poiana Marului - The day begins with a drive towards Vama Buzaului, arriving at the Urlatoarele waterfall. Here, guests will take a break and walk up the hill to the water curtain. Vama Buzaului was established after the Austro-Hungarian Empire was formed, and Transylvania was assimilated into the empire. The customs were relocated from the Tartar Ridge to the current village base.

Bucharest - From there, guests will be taken to the breathtaking landscape of the Tabla Butii (“The Plateau of Barrels”) route for an exhilarating off-road experience. They will discover the ancient road used to cross from Transylvania to Wallachia, one of the mountain passes used by migrating Tatars and Cumans into Transylvania and Europe. Guests can also admire the Tartar ridge previously crossed to enter Wallachia. The 4x4 tour includes a visit to an authentic sheepfold, where guests will enjoy a picnic lunch featuring organic cheese. The journey continues through the ruins of the Hungarian border fortress Cruceberg, built in medieval times by Teutonic Knights. Descending the mountains, the tour arrives in Slon village and returns to Bucharest, with transfers to the airport or hotel.
