Really friendly and informative walking tour! - Really friendly and informative walking tour! The guide/owners is happy to deal with adverse situations, and is very professional over email. The walking tour its self was full of insightful information and was great to see a different bit of history within Bristol. Appeals to both locals and tourist (our group was a mix) and touches on a variety of history of the area. As well as providing additional ways to engage with a lesser know historical period. The price feels really reasonable for the amount of details and information provided.

Fun & interesting tour - Afternoon tours feature the Air Raid shelters beneath St Nicholas’ Market. If you wish to include the market, then you need to book a morning tour. Guide was excellent- very knowledgeable and brought the experience to life! Thoroughly enjoyable tour 😊

Extremely informative visit. - We had a lovely tour round the air raid shelter and the immediate environs of St Nicholas Market. Very interesting information about the impact of the blitz on Bristol. A lot of which we had no idea about which we found fascinating as we have lived near Bristol all our lives. Very friendly tour guide who really got into the spirit of the tour. They are clearly trying to set up a unique tourist attraction here and it has a lot of potential for further interesting development. I highly recommend the visit for an entertaining dose of Bristol history.

Look into the past with the Air Raide tour in St Nicholas market in Bristol - Went on the Air Raide tour yesterday with Richard as our guide. The tour was fascinating and Richard made it come alive with interesting facts, historical pictures and the actual air raide shelter with all its contents. Memorable and thoughtful.

Fascinating tour and great tour guide - We went on the air raid shelter tour yesterday and really enjoyed it. Owen, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and delivered the tour at a great pace, was really clear and had a great sense of humour too. As lifelong Bristolians we couldn’t believe what we have been waking over all these years! We loved the overview of Bristol’s history at the start which really set the scene for how devastating the air raid attacks were and how close they were to the corn street shelter. It was pretty incredible being down there and seeing all the fantastic artefacts and really getting a sense of what it would have been like. It’s a part of our city’s history I didn’t previously know that much about so thank you Owen for making it so interesting and engaging. I’ve already been recommending it to lots of others!

Great event in the centre - don’t miss it! - I was invited in this tour today April 17th by a friend. I thought it was just another walk round the historical centre of this beautiful city - but No! It was a trip into the old bomb shelters still largely preserved under St Nicks market. I was thrilled and ultimately totally uplifted by the experience and the amount of history I learned. I was born just after the war and in those shelters I saw two teddies and a toy dog just like the ones I had so long ago! Don’t worry - I picked them up but put them back in their bedding!! Thanks for the nostalgia and the huge amount of information about what happened in Bristol. A great outing for anyone seeking to look below the surface!
