As we explored the Legacy Museum, I was transported back in time, learning about the island’s storied past and the craftsmanship that goes into every bottle of Mount Gay Rum. The short film we watched further deepened my appreciation for the art of rum-making, and I couldn’t wait to taste the fruits of this labor.

The tasting room was a sensory delight. We sampled four distinct rums, each with its own unique character and story. RJ’s enthusiasm was infectious as he guided us through the tasting, explaining the subtle differences and nuances of each rum. But the highlight of the evening was yet to come. Damion, our mixologist for the night, took center stage to teach us the art of crafting a classic Bajan Rum Punch. With a twinkle in his eye and a flair for showmanship, he demonstrated the perfect blend of ingredients. Then it was our turn to create our own signature cocktails. I was thrilled to place third in the friendly competition, a testament to the fun and camaraderie that filled the room.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we settled into the dining area for a sumptuous three-course meal. The fresh salad, hearty pasta, and delightful dessert were perfectly paired with another expertly crafted cocktail. Before we knew it, it was time to head back. But not before a quick stop at the gift shop to pick up a few keepsakes. The return trip was filled with laughter and shared stories, a fitting end to an evening that was nothing short of magical. RJ and Damion’s charm and energy made the experience truly unforgettable, and I left with memories that will stay with me forever.
