Today, we invite you to visit the Country Boy Mine and enjoy the many activities the mine has to offer. Join us for a mine tour into a real gold mine at this historic restored mining site. While at the mine you can also gold pan, pet the burros, slide down the 55 foot ore chute, explore the authentic mine site, view the exhibits and equipment that were used in the mine and visit the general store. The Country Boy Mine has been offering mine tours for over 20 years. The Country Boy Mine is located 2 miles from downtown Breckenridge in Summit County, Colorado.

Experience a unique and historical adventure in Breckenridge’s only actual open mine tour. Explore more about the ancient mining towns. Features gold panning. In the summer, our two friendly burros (small donkeys) roam freely and bask in the attention of feed and pats! Try your luck in extracting your wealth by panning gold in the ore-rich river. Children (and even adults!) will delight in the ore chute slide and a leisurely stroll around the heritage site.

Great time - Fun, off the beaten path half-day in Breck. This is one of those places to go if you want a break from normal. Staff is crazy friendly and you can tell they enjoy their job and bringing the experience to their guests.

Mine tour - The tour was so cool and Michael the tour guide was really funny and interacted with everyone. After the tour you actually get to pan for Gold which was a treat!🤟👋

Fun family time!! - Great time! Very interesting and fun family time. Got some cool stuff and more history in the gift shop. Panning for gold was super fun for our grandson!

Mine tour - We did the mine and gold panning tour at Country Boy Mine. Minor John was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable of the mine and gold panning. Very nice job.

Great Mine Tour - Had a great time! Both Jon and Michael were knowledgable, patient, and a lot of fun. You can tell not only do they know what they are doing and talking about, but genuinely are passionate about it as well. We were lucky to have a small group which really allowed Michael, our guide, to engage with and answer our questions. It would really be cool if they had a haunted night tour (hint hint Jon). Highly recommend!

Hidden Gem - I found this gem while looking for things to do in Breckenridge. My boyfriend, his sister, and I went. We had an EXCELLENT time! Michael was our guide and he did a great job explaining how the mine used to work and tailored our tour to our group, specifically. We then spent about 45 minutes panning both inside and outside the facility. The donkeys were ADORABLE!

Great Family Experience!! - Incredible tour with Miner John!! Educational, fun, and great for the whole family. All four of my kids ages 2-10 had a great experience. Plus they got to pan for gold and take home the gold flakes they mined themselves. Miner John truly went above and beyond for us!

Insight into Life of Miners - This trip gives you insight into the hard life of the miners. I can not imagine living a life like that. Our guide Michael was absolutely wonderful & answered questions candidly. Overall a trip worth taking if you are willing to go inside a mine to learn about the past.
