Great museum - A very lengthy museum, but it shows everyone who served for this country of America and the outfits they show are absolutely INSANE. I was so impressed when they had an outfit from every decade of the war and for every role from Military Private to Military General.

The High Cost of Freedom…a must see to appreciate the sacrifice our veterans have made so we can live in a free country! - There were so many unique items, like a hate belt. Nazis cut off buttons from people they killed and sewed them onto belts

The exhibits made me cry. - Not out of conscious effort, but my husband and I have ended up visiting umpteen battlefields, forts, battleships, war cemeteries and homes of various historical generals and leaders on our travels. From Pearl Harbor to Fort Monroe, Little Bighorn to Fort De Soto and everywhere in between, we've been there. Like many Americans I've had grandparents, aunts, uncles, and extended family going back every generation that we've traced that have served in US wars going back to the Revolutionary War. I had to speed through some rooms to get to a spot where I was alone so I could catch my breath to stop the tears welling in my eyes. I'm extremely critical of the US Military Industrial Complex and it makes me so angry and sad to see all the names of the people who died and their families ripped apart for the benefit of bankers, military contractors and politicians. There are a lot of neat artifacts in here going back to WWI. My favorite artifact was the vest for a carrier pigeon. If you're interested in politics or history or the military, this is a nice museum to stop at as an adult. I wouldn't bring small children here because the subject matter is too heavy. Worth stopping! - We did not allow enough time for this stop. Building looks deceptively small outside. Appreciated so many personal stories beside the artifacts, not just captions.
