• Trovanți (Babele de la Ulmet) - These natural stone formations have sparked numerous explanations and theories, along with many legends and attributes. Essentially, they are accumulations of sand, sandstone, and cemented marls, arranged in a circular pattern and formed deep within the earth, in groundwater, millions of years ago. Discussions often revolve around the types of waters and marine life that contributed to their formation, the process itself, their original location, and how they arrived at their current site. Legends also accompany these stones, with some suggesting they move and the consensus being that they grow each year. Their most striking feature is their regular shape, either perfectly round or oval, resembling eggs or large shells. This is a family-friendly destination. The physical effort required is minimal, involving a hillside climb that is accessible for children. They enjoy reduced admission rates, and their curiosity will be thoroughly engaged.
• Berca Mud Volcanoes - Mud volcanoes are landforms created by natural gas emerging from depths of 3,000 meters, which, on its way to the surface, carries groundwater or infiltrates the clay composing the area’s soil. The gases propel water and clay to the surface at varying speeds. Once exposed, the clay dries, forming volcanic cones. The entire mixture is cold, and the predominant gas is non-flammable, though a slightly pungent, sulphurous odor may be present. In Romania, the most renowned and spectacular mud volcanoes are located in the Beciu - Scortoasa - Paclele - Berca area, within the Buzau Subcarpathians. Paclele Hill is a landform near which, to the west, the Muddy Volcanoes are found, oriented in a north-south direction. The entire volcanic area is bordered to the south by the Buzau Valley and to the west by the Policiori - Scortoasa depression.
