A wonderful experience. - A wonderful experience for both me and my wife on our honeymoon. It was very private as we were the only ones on both the river cruise and game drive. Shelton our driver was amazing and we cannot recommend the activity enough.

Chobe National Park River cruise & game drive - We had an amazing time at Chobe National Park with Cuckoo Safaris & Puku Safaris. Easy pick-up and drive from Victoria Falls to the border with Botswana with Norman who guided us through border control for the hand-over to Puku Safaris who drove us to the awaiting boat for the river trip with our tour guide July. Great close-up encounters with hippos, crocs, buffalo, lizards & birds before stopping for a 3 course buffet lunch at a local lodge which was excellent. We then transferred to our game drive host Gift, who took us through the Chobe national park for sightings of elephants, giraffe, impala, jackels, hyenas and zebra, before returning to border control for an easy transfer back to our hotel with Norman. Thank you Cuckoo & Puku Safari's for a fantastic and memorable trip, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Car accident due to negligence - I gave careful thought before writing this review. I honestly believe every company makes mistakes and while the mistake matters, how they respond and fix the mistake is equally important. Our driver was about 10 minutes late picking us up from our hotel. That doesn’t bother me at all but I believe factors into the circumstances. On our way to the Botswana border, he was driving fairly fast 90-100kph. I don’t know the speed limit, but considering we were driving on a 2 lane road alongside a national park with wild animals, I thought some caution should have been taken. Up ahead, we saw a van with its hazards flashing. At the last minute, our driver swerved to pass it, hitting the other van, ripping off our side mirror throwing all the glass and mirror through the passenger window onto us in the back seat. I had glass shards all over me and in my hair…I was definitely in shock! Needless to say, the entire side of the car we’re driving in was damaged. We don’t know if our driver fell asleep, was looking at his phone or what happened, but it it doesn’t matter. The entire experience was jarring and frightening. A few more inches and it could have been a fatal accident…with a parked car (that we later learned had stopped to view elephants…again, why was he going so fast down the road to begin with?) A third safari van pulled up and the van we damaged and our car stayed back and we all got in the third safari van to continue on. Cuckoo Safaris reached out to me that night saying, “We were informed of an incident where our vehicle lightly touched another stationary vehicle while guests were watching elephants.” I informed them it was not a “light touch” at all, that he hit a stationary vehicle going 85kph. They admitted they were unaware of the situation and apologized again (clearly our driver didn’t tell them the entire story). The safari after that was a little difficult to enjoy, given the circumstances. Chose wisely whose care you place your life in while on vacation. I’ve heard of these things happening but I never thought it could happen to me. While most people would probably give a 1 star review, I added a star for them getting us on another safari bus so we could continue our day and following up that night. But I certainly wouldn’t use this company based on my experience when there are numerous options available.
