Time flies by when you're captivated by good stories - Our guide, Lin, was a superb storyteller. I know quite a bit about the Abolition movement, yet the way she organized her information and the facts she brought forth helped me to see the whole time period in a new and expanded light. When I first saw the 2.5-hour time frame, I thought that it was awfully long, but...the time flew by! A short break in the middle helps. Our group ranged in age from 6th grade to retired history lovers. Everyone was engaged, asking excellent questions along the way. I will definitely take more Hub Town tours.

AMAZING tour, don’t miss it! - Our guide Dana was stellar! You can tell he put a lot of work into the tour and it shows. He definitely knows his stuff and is excited to share it with others. We learned a lot and had a ton of fun! I think you’ll leave with an appreciation for the courage of those who thought differently during the slavery era and their efforts to bring about change. Great tour for all ages, and very well planned!

Great Tour with Lots of Uphill Walking - Dana was a very passionate tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the information. It was a good tour to learn about stories left out of history textbooks in school. There is a lot of walking on cobblestone/brick, so I recommend good support sneakers.

Great way to learn about a different side of Boston history - Fascinating tour with Lin about Beacon Hill and the ties to Black history and the Underground Railroad. The tour was intimate and we wound up having some really great discussions, including exchanging movie and book recommendations on the topic. I loved getting a feel for the architecture of the area and its history, including a journey through some small passages amongst the buildings! We tend to think of the American Revolution when we think of Boston, but this tour shows how much more there is to the story, and how complicated our history can be. Highly highly recommend.

I also appreciate her taking time to call me to make sure I wasn’t lost (which I was). Trip Advisor: please give a more precise description of where to meet!

Ur slay - In the words of my 17-yo kid, Will absolutely slayed. This is a remarkable tour and my family enjoyed every minute of the 2.5 hour tour. Will is incredibly knowledgeable about Black history in Boston and its wider significance for the nation and the world. He was so incredibly passionate and ultimately inspiring, especially considering the political state of modern America. Especially in this historical moment, a tour like this is everything and inspires both legitimate anger but also some reasons for hope. The tour deserves many participants we feel grateful for the opportunity to learn with and from Will. 5 stars!

Escape from the South - Very informative! The subject matter is not pretty, slavery and those trying to escape it from the South! But we thought it was very well done! History is what it is and learning is important!

Fabulous Family Tour! - We had a really informative and powerful morning with our guide Lin. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the the Black history of Boston. We had our 15 year old and 12 year old with us and we all learned so much. Highlights were the secret passages and learning about the people (like the women) that are not listed on the plaques. Great morning! Thank you Lin!!
