It is located in a secluded part of the Bay of Kotor. The city has a population of 13,347 and is the administrative centre of Kotor Municipality.
The old Mediterranean port of Kotor is surrounded by fortifications built during the Venetian period. It is located on the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. Some[who?] have called it the southernmost fjord in Europe, but it is a ria, a submerged river canyon. Together with the nearly overhanging limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovćen, Kotor and its surrounding area form an impressive landscape.
- Radovici-Zanjice Pedestrian Path - Žanjice (Serbian Cyrillic: Жaњице) is a coastal village in the Herceg Novi municipality of Montenegro, known for its beautiful beach and proximity to other attractions like the Mamula islet and Plava Špilja (Blue Cave). It’s a popular destination, particularly during the summer tourist season, with boat tours frequently operating to and from the area.
- Blue Grotto - One of its most unique and captivating attractions is the Blue Cave, a natural wonder nestled along the rugged Luštica Peninsula coastline. With its shimmering blue waters and stunning rock formations, the Blue Cave is a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Montenegro
- Herceg-Novi - Herceg Novi (Cyrillic: Херцег Нови, pronounced [xěrtseɡ nôviː]) is a town in Coastal region of Montenegro located at the Western entrance to the Bay of Kotor and at the foot of Mount Orjen. It is the administrative center of the Herceg Novi Municipality with around 33,000 inhabitants.
- Boka Bay Montenegro - The Bay of Kotor (Serbo-Croatian: Boka kotorska / Бока которска, Italian: Bocche di Cattaro), also known as the Boka (Serbo-Croatian Cyrillic: Бока),[1] is a winding bay of the Adriatic Sea in southwestern Montenegro and the region of Montenegro concentrated around the bay. It is also the southernmost part of the historical region of Dalmatia. At the entrance to the Bay there is Prevlaka, a small peninsula in southern Croatia. The bay has been inhabited since antiquity. Its well-preserved medieval towns of Kotor, Risan, Tivat, Perast, Prčanj and Herceg Novi, along with their natural surroundings, are major tourist attractions. The Natural and Culturo-Historical Region of Kotor was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Its numerous Orthodox and Catholic churches and monasteries attract numerous religious pilgrims and other visitors.
