Noteworthy features include its medieval city gates and an 11th-century castle, which is a blend of Muslim and Christian architectural elements. North-west of Tarifa lie the remnants of Baelo Claudia, a Roman city that thrived during the reign of Emperor Claudius, but was later abandoned in the 6th century following a series of earthquakes. Roman ruins in a private tour from Cadiz - perfect Cadiz day trip - This is the trip I had been waiting on for a decade. I'd been wanting to visit Baelo Claudia, the remains of a Roman town but it wasn't possible by public transport. Fun Taste Spain made it all possible! Jamie and Gabriela picked us up from our hotel, gave us a tour of the area, provided informed commentary and wonderful conversation, were really flexible and patient with us and booked us a reservation in a fantastic restaurant for lunch. Their knowledge and passion shines through from hotel pick up to drop off. I cannot recommend this company high enough. Thank you both
