The tour was just perfect! It was great to have a small group as the experience felt a lot more personal, especially when chatting around a table filled with food! The food itself was AMAZING and it was so great to get the history and other background information about the different types of food, local sellers and stores. It gave so much more meaning to the food and made it all the more delicious! It also made me think about where the food was coming from (locations, processes, quality etc.). Sara was full of knowledge and passion, and was very professional all the while giving the tour a personal touch. All of these things made me appreciate what I was eating a whole lot more and made for a fabulous tour!

Our guide was knowledgeable, organized and charming. Food was good and other guests on the tour were friendly. Can’t think of any way it could be improved!

Caterina was a delightful guide; we had a lovely four hours with her. Even though she must have taken this tour so often she made us feel as if we were her first and only guests. We learned a lot about the food of Bologna and of Italy, which greatly added to our appreciation and enjoyment of the rest of our stay in Bologna. Margaret and I are now determined to try and make our own pasta when we return home although it will never be as good as that of Bologna! I would highly recommend this tour to our friends and family when they visit Bologna.

Our Guide Elena was terrific. A Bologna native who loves her city and its history. She started our tour with a brief history of the region and the city. Then we began eating our way through Bologna. She took us for coffee to get our day started off on the right foot. Then we walked to open markets and she explained the foods we were seeing and why some are unique to Bologna. We even had the opportunity to watch tortellini being made and had a lesson in making it ourselves. Then we went to shops and gathered the lunch portions she had ordered and took our picnic to an old locals Osteria. So delicious and enjoyable. Last stop was artisan gelato tasting at Oggi. She was great in explaining the difference between real gelato and the mass produced ones - that I will never be able to eat again :) I was sorry to say goodbye at the end. It was a wonderful day!
