An amazing tour of Emilia-Romagna and a memorable experience - This was an amazing, intimate tour of the Emilia-Romagna area. It was November, so the weather was a bit crappy (raining and foggy when we went). We were picked up at our hotel in the morning, then had about a 45 minute drive into the countryside. We went to a lovely modern winery specializing in Labrusco wine, the wine of the region. Our favorite wine, barbara, was also available there, so we were happy to taste those wines, along with a little antipasti. Our hostess was lovely, and the winery was tucked back in hills that were truly serene. But the best was yet to come. An hour later, we were driven by our driver to a small twon called Castelvetro di Modena, to a place called the Farm Cabins, where we tried the wine they made on site for their restaurance there. Amazing views in a very rustic setting. The property was situated on a hill, where they run a B&B. The family staff were amazing and welcoming. No menu, just sit down, drink wine, and enjoy the courses of food that were beyond amazing. Delicious local antipasti with little puffy bread and fresh parmesan. Primi was homemade tortellini, and the secondi was amazing pork. What made this place even more special was the fact that it was packed on a Sunday afternoon. According to our driver, this is not the normal daily thing-- they all came from church. I mean, literally over a hundred people, all sat at tables of 8 and 10, all enjoying each other's company. It was a really amazing feeling to feel as though we were part of the small community, even if just for a day. I don't know that they should call this a wine experience as much as a Emilia-Romagna experience. Maybe it is because it started as a wine experience, and turned into a provincial feast for the eyes and mouth. Definitely recommend this tour!

A great experience - Both vineyards offered a variety of very nice wines paired with local food. Our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. We’ve been on a lot of wine tours, but this was definitely one of the best.

Two wineries in the hills outside Bologna. - A very nice driver collected us at our Airbnb and drove us to two beautiful wineries. Hosts at both places were knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. We had a tour of the wineries, s brief history of the winemakers, as well as a tasting of several varietals at each place. The second winery also served us an amazing lunch. If you have time, definitely take this tour.

Delivers as promised - We had a wonderful experience. Both wineries were beautiful, small and organic only wines. Be prepared to come hungry, both wineries give you antipasti as well as tastings. We were full before lunch. The driver was excellent and friendly. The tour is a great way to see the beautiful countryside around Bologna. I recommend it highly for any wine lovers.

Fiorini excellent, 2nd Winery Terrible! - Fiorini Winery was excellent. The owner Christina did the tour, explained the wines and processes and differences with absolute passion. Friendly and accommodating generous with her time and the tasting she did with us. Excellent and highly recommend especially if you want to learn the different Lambrusco wines. The 2nd winery, terrible. The lady took us for a walk up the hill, showed us the cellar and showed us the wines they make all in 5min. No passion or enthusiasm. We were then taken to their restaurant, and asked what we want to taste. No explanation of the wines or grapes or aging nothing. She walked away and kept busy in the restaurant with her tasks. We did meet the owner but he just said welcome. This was a terrible experience and seems they are not interested. 2nd half was a waste of money and this is not a cheap tour. We feel a little cheated! Francisco the driver was great. The lunch....average food, basically bread tapa starter and pasta main course which was very average. Very disappointing lunch!
