• Bogor Botanical Gardens - We will drive to Bogor, which takes about an hour from your location or hotel. Once there, we’ll explore the Botanical Garden in Bogor, located in the city center. The garden spans 84 hectares and offers a tropical atmosphere. We’ll walk through the garden, which also houses the presidential palace, and visit the main garden at Lake “Danau” Gunting, named for its scissor-like shape. The presidential palace is heavily guarded by the army, but we can still get close enough to take photos. This colonial-era building, designed by colonial architects, is still used for presidential residence and conferences. Afterward, you can enjoy activities such as walking, sightseeing, or bicycling. We’ll spend about an hour here before heading to a scenic waterfall, visiting various places along the way.
• Gumati Resto Khas Sunda - Around midday, we’ll dine at a local restaurant with a view of Salak Mountain, offering traditional Sundanese cuisine in Bogor city. You can also enjoy coffee, juice, or coconut at your own expense. Afterward, we’ll drive to a waterfall and visit a wooden puppet maker.
• Enday Media / Kerajinan Wayang Golek - After lunch or visiting the waterfall, we’ll see a “Wayang Golek” or wooden puppet maker, a heritage of Sundanese culture. The puppet maker is a generational artisan, having learned the craft from his father. Visiting the puppet maker is optional but adds to your experience. You can choose to buy a puppet as a souvenir of Sundanese culture. Gamelan, a traditional Javanese instrumental music, is also related to the puppets and is an optional experience.
• Mulyaharja - About an hour from the Bogor Botanical Garden, near the waterfall, lies Mulyaharja rice fields in Bogor regency. These rice terraces, located close to a fantastic mountain, offer stunning views. While not as leveled as the Javanese rice terraces, the scenery is equally breathtaking. It’s recommended to visit in the morning or evening for the best views.
• Nangka Waterfall - We’ll drive up the hill for about an hour. Upon arrival, we’ll walk along a path lined with pine trees, where you might see groups of monkeys. We’ll then walk through a stony alley resembling a canyon. The waterfall has three sections where you can choose to swim or simply rejuvenate your soul and mind. On the way back to the city via Ciomas road, you’ll see many local sights and possibly a Hindu temple, which is optional to visit. We’ll return to your accommodation within an hour.
