Snowshoeing is a good way to enjoy the snow if you are not steady on a pair of skis. The snowshoe trip is fully guided, and we’ll provide you with the necessary gear. To maximise your chances of having a great experience, it’s important to dress warmly.
Daytime Snowshoe Trips. This is a great way to enjoy the winter landscape and the Arctic wilderness near Bodø. We’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the nature, and on a guided tour you can immerse yourself in new knowledge about the Norwegian nature.
Arctic Night Snowshoe Hike. A bit adventurous? Then consider a mysterious evening snowshoe hike, which could be your chance to see the Northern Lights. You’ll then get a feeling of a winter night above the Arctic Circle. During the hike, we’ll stop by for a break, make an open fire and enjoy a hot drink.
- Minimum age is 10 years
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund. To run this tour, a minimum of two people must book.

A beautiful excursion! - We booked the snowshoe hike in Bodø with four people and were very enthusiastic about this tour! Our guide was Ivar, he picked us up right at the cruise terminal. We then drove past various sights (such as the Salstraumen) and even saw reindeer and were able to get very close to the animals with the help of Ivar's experiences. That was a very great experience. On the way to the snowshoe hike we made several nice stops in impressive places. The actual snowshoe hike was also beautiful. Ivar showed us a beautiful area and we had real fun in the snow. After the hike we were provided with hot drinks and made our way back. Ivar met an old acquaintance, where we were invited to visit his craft workshop. This also gave us real insights into the lives of the local people, which we were very happy about. Ivar was very accommodating throughout the tour and involved us in planning the tour. In addition, he took photos throughout the tour, which we also received afterwards.
Overall, we can recommend the tour to anyone who wants to experience more of Bodø and the landscapes further inland. We would definitely book the tour again!

Already looking forward to my next experience - I found Nordland via my hotel, and I wasn’t disappointed. Always wanted to snowshoe but Ivar’s obvious knowledge and experience ensured I got a little of everything that I love about Northern Norway. - highly recommended

Nordland Adventures - An absolutely incredible family experience in Bodø with Nordland Adventures!
We chased the Northern Lights, went dog sledding, snowshoed through stunning Arctic landscapes, and enjoyed a private boat experience to observe marine wildlife and flora. Every single activity was perfectly organized and unforgettable.
A huge thank you to our guide, Ivar, he was exceptional. Professional, knowledgeable, warm, and passionate about his region. He truly made the experience special for all of us.
The service was outstanding from beginning to end. Everything was seamless and top quality.
We highly recommend Nordland Adventures to anyone looking for an authentic and well-organized Arctic adventure.

Great Experience! - Snowshoeing was great! Ivar has a really good knowledge of the Bodø and took us to a really pretty spot! There were drinks provided and Ivar made stops at other really pretty places and provided some local knowledge at each stop. Ivar was super friendly and made suggestions for hikes and pointed out various starting points whilst on the tour.

Fun and beautiful nature - We had a wonderfull excursion with Ivar. He showed us some beautiful places in nature, and knows a lot about the region and nature. The hiking with snowshoes on was fun and a good exercise 😉

Book this tour🙌🏻 - I visited Norway in January 2026. I travelled to Bodø to watch Man City play in the champions league. Whilst there I went on two unforgettable trips with Nordland adventures!!! Ivar is such a special tour guide who makes you feel so welcomed and has such an extensive wealth of knowledge on the area. The northern lights was top of my bucket list and this trip exceeded any expectations. The snowshoeing activity was such a fun different activity. I felt safe at all times and Ivar is always making sure you are having the best time possible! Cannot recommend Nordland adventures enough!!

A unique private experience at great price - Forget large busses and mass tourism - with Nordland Adventures it’s about you and how you want to learn Norway. Tiny Groups! There were just 2 of us on the trip and Ivar our guide made sure we are having best experience off the beaten track but also took us additionally to hidden gems

Very attentive tour company; great service! - Ivar was very communicative and helpful when we booked a tour to go snowshoeing. He ensured the tour was suitable for our group’s needs and abilities and took us to some lovely places in the Salten region, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for the outdoors. In addition to the snowshoeing, we also managed to see some elks, eagles, reindeer and roe deer in the wild which was an unexpected bonus!

Excellent customer service and tour - Ivar knows Nordland/Bodø's surroundings incredibly well and is a very knowledgeable and passionate guide. I could feel that he is committed to creating the best possible experience for his clients. Even though I was the only one booked for the day, he still agreed to go ahead with the tour, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, there was not much snow by the time I arrived, so Ivar offered me the possibility to either cancel or to go for an alternative hike. I took him up on the hike and it turned out to be a beautiful trip to a magical forest and peninsula. Ivar also stopped at several interesting spots along the way to the hike.

We were so fortunate to... - We were so fortunate to have Ivar as our guide! He was very friendly and accommodating, happy to tailor the day to our preferences. He also gave us tips for seeing the northern lights, and we bonded over photography. We’d happily take another tour with him.
