Our tour guide, Juan, was... - Our tour guide, Juan, was so fun and knowledgeable. For me, this was the highlight of my trip, but all of my friends enjoyed it as well. The hike was beautiful and we ended at a beach with a really great restaurant that Juan recommended and then we caught a boat taxi back to the bus. Two things to know is you will be traveling on a public bus to and from the hike. That wasn’t bad, crowded, but not bad. The hike was definitely more intermediate than beginner and definitely not for anyone who has any health or mobility issues. Also wearing proper hiking shoes is super helpful as well. Other than that bring sunscreen and some pesos to buy a drink at one or more of the beaches and have a great time.

Awesome experience! - Awesome experience! Exactly what we wanted. We went on the hike in the jungle and there was plenty of inclines, a lot of rocks, animals and views of the beach. We also got to see a little bit of the locals and small towns. We passed by some beautiful villas and resorts in secret beaches. Really chill. Our tour guide Alex was really nice, informative and chill. He tried to talk to everyone in the group and let us do our thing on the beaches for about 25min-30min. We came back in a water taxi. We def got to experience a glimpse of local puerto Vallarta and enjoyed ourselves! Thanks Alex for the awesome trip!

Epic hike today - What an epic hike to the 5 beaches, Rocco was our guide for the day. He pointed out birds, lizards, whales, and lots of different trees. The hike was a bit hard going up hills / steps but the amazing views was worth it. We swam at each beach, we didn’t snorkel as it was not best water conditions. We finished eating a late lunch. Rocco even spent the entire time at one beach cleaning up trash left by others, he really cares about his home town of PV

Great hiking - Great hiking in a small group with an excellent guide, Alex. It was mainly hiking, snorkeling was only at the first beach and then we could swim at one of the other beaches, but most people did not. The rest of the beaches we just passed as we hiked by. It took a full day from 9:30 to past 4pm. The trail was pretty rugged, not recommended for people with mobility issues.

Old guy in the jungle - What a day Juan led a group of us through the wild trails and jungles of the Mexican pacific coast. Juan was fantastic his patience and calm instructions made all 9 of us feel confident and willing to attack a very challenging and at times kinda scary hike. I am a senior and was concerned about my ability to take on such a demanding and strenuous trip. Best experience you can book if you want to see a real view of the amazing Mexican coast. Again I can't say enough about Juan's guidance, humor and vast knowledge of terrain and history. If you want to get out of the deck chair and get an experience you will never forget BOOK THIS TRIP. I am a tourist from Canada and this is my honest opinion. Enjoy!!

Juan is the man! - He brought so much energy and humour from beginning to end. We had a great time going from beach to beach, learning about all the attractions. Hike is relatively easy and Juan pointed out all possible hazards. Got great ceviche in restaurant at last beach and had a good conversation with nice people in our group. Definitely recommend!

Best Puerto Vallata Beaches Pros and Cons - Best Puerto Vallata Beaches Pros and Cons Pros & Cons guide to some of the best beaches in and around Puerto Vallarta ranging from lively urban sands to quiet coves and snorkeling gems. Including typical experiences and considerations to help you choose based on your preferences. Central / Urban Beaches Playa Los Muertos Address: Romantic Zone (Zona Romantica) Pros: Most famous and iconic beach in Puerto Vallarta, right in the Romantic Zone (Zona Romántica). Excellent for people-watching, beach clubs, restaurants, nightlife, and sunset views. Convenient access; virtually walkable from many downtown hotels. Cons: Very crowded and busy, especially midday and during holidays. Persistent beach vendors and music can make it noisy. Swimming conditions vary — waves and currents can be stronger at times.more on promovisionpv Playa Las Glorias Wide open sands where you might just have the beach to yourself. Even when busy, there’s space. Pros: quiet, long beach walk, near hotels. Cons: bring your own chairs, snacks, drinks, and shade. Conchas Chinas Beach Pros: Beautiful and more picturesque and tranquil setting just south of Los Muertos. Clearer water, natural rock formations, and tide pools make it good for snorkeling and swimming. Less crowded than main city beaches. Cons: Rocky entry and uneven sand in places water shoes recommended. Limited services (few amenities directly on the beach). Playa Amapas Pros: Small, calm beach located below the Amapas hillside very peaceful. Great for relaxing without the bustle of larger beaches. Cons: Limited sand area and services. Access requires a short trail or steps from the path above. Calm / Family-Friendly Beaches Playa Lindomar Address: Easy, Conchas Chinas, Pros: Small beach tucked in the Conchas Chinas area calmer atmosphere. Good for families or quieter swimming. Cons: Smaller shoreline and not a “destination beach” on its own. Las Gemelas Beach Address: On te way to Mismaloya Pros: Two adjacent coves with clear, turquoise water and fewer crowds. Nice for swimming or casual snorkeling right off the sand. Cons: Minimal infrastructure. no lifeguards, few services. Street Parking fills up early; best to arrive morning. Nature / Adventure Beaches (Accessible by Boat or Trail) Mismaloya Beach Address: Mismaloya Pros: A classic PV beach south of town with a jungle-backed setting and good swim conditions. Can pair with boat tours or snorkeling at Los Arcos Marine Park (nearby). Cons: More out of the way; requires transport like bus, or tour. Facilities are basic compared with downtown beaches. Colomitos & Hidden Coves (not a named business listing) Pros: Secluded, pristine water and small sandy cove, ideal for snorkeling and peace. Cons: Requires either a boat taxi or a hike through jungle paths not ideal for everyone. No facilities (bring water/food). Distant / Day-Trip Beaches These are not within walking distance of downtown but excellent if you have transport (bus, water taxi, tour): Yelapa (boat from PV) Pros: Peaceful fishing village vibe with a turquoise cove, restaurants and waterfalls nearby. Cons: Day trip only from PV; no road access. Can be crowded with day-trippers but still more relaxed than downtown beaches. Playa Palmares (north of PV) Pros: Wide white-sand beach with shallow water good for families and calmer swimming. Cons: Requires bus/taxi north of town; more remote and fewer amenities. Punta Negra Pros: Quieter beach with amenities and restaurants, usually less crowded. Cons: Requires transport; not a quick beach hop from downtown. No facolities. Quick Summary: Which Beach Fits You? Preference, Best Picks Lively & social: Paya Los Muertos Scenic & quieter: Conchas Chinas, Amapas Calm swimming: Palmares, Gemelas Nature/adventure: Mismaloya, Colomitos, Yelapa Easy access & variety: Camarones, Lindomar Playa Las Animas Pros: gtreat for swimming, good restaurants, quiet areas. Cons: access by boat only or hike via Boca de Tomatlan

We enjoyed our guide... - We enjoyed our guide Victor and appreciated his helpfulness. It was a fairly strenuous hike but we knew that going in. The lunch spot at the end in Animas was set up nicely for our group and had delicious offerings.

One of a kind! - Definitely not for the weak. Very high and steep climbs so if you’re not an active person and work out a least 4-5 times a week…be aware. Very beautiful beaches. warm water and they even had coconuts and snacks for us at one of the beaches. Just know it is a bit tiring…but worth it.
