Starting in November, the tour includes observing slipperies and helping them reach the water, protecting them from their natural predator, the crab.
The excursion is conducted in small groups, allowing each guest to witness the entire egg-laying process. Additionally, participants have ample time to take photos and/or videos.
We operate our own Turtlewatch tours and do not outsource to agencies. Turtlewatch is available from mid-July to November!

- Everyone needs to be able to walk in the sand on the beach for some time, so a certain level of fitness is necessary.
- There are seats in the pick-up and also outside on the benches. However, no fixed seats can be reserved inside. Everyone should be able to sit at the back. And of course, children always have the priority of sitting inside.

Incredible experience with baby turtles - We had a great experience with Kai. It was off season for the egg laying, but we were able to see hatchlings and help them into the sea, which was incredible. Highly recommended.

Informative, welfare friendly and magical experience - What a fantastic trip! Kai was an exceptional guide who made sure everyone learned about the turtles in both German and English and made sure that the turtles welfare was first. Seeing and releasing the baby turtles was magical and surprisingly riding in the back of the pick up was an amazing experience with a sky full of stars.
This is a great trip if you want to learn about the turtles in a welfare friendly way and enjoy adventure.

Brilliant trip - Fantastic experience, Kai kept us updated with timings the whole time, definitely sit at the back for the ride but be mindful of the sand! She was very knowledgeable about the turtles and answered all the questions. Very welcoming and perfect host, thank you to you and your team for a lovely evening and brilliant memories!

Turtle experience at night. - Fascinating experience. Got to hold the baby hatchlings and take them safely to the sea to give them the best chance of survival. Learned all about loggerheads turtles by our very friendly guide who has devoted her life to their preservation since 2011, moving to live in Boavista in 2014. A unique and very interesting trip.

Great tour 🐢😍 - Great experience 🐢. We would be picked up with the pickup trucks - absolutely take a vest and scarf and hat for the ride! After an hour we arrived and learned a lot about turtles and helped them into the sea. Sooo sweet the little ones 😍 totally recommended and a great tour with Kai. Thank you for that.

5 star experience - Kai was an amazing tour guide. Very patient and got everyone involved. We were initially going to go out on the Wednesday but due to the rain it got postponed. This was rearranged hassle free, to the next day. The baby turtles were lovely and we all got an opportunity to hold one and release one into the ocean. 5 stars

Amazing memories - What an amazing experience and memories to last forever! We got to see a large nest of baby turtles that had hatched, and also help them into the sea safely
It was fantastic and the guide was super informative and really friendly
Also the journey to the beach was really fun we rode on the back of a 4x4 and we sat in the open top benches so even that felt like an excursion in itself !
Highly recommend this trip
Someone told us before we left that there might be mosquitos but personally we didn't get any bites etc. but it might be worth wearing long trousers if this bothers you (we didn't and we were fine)

Germans only and zero conservation - Don’t bother if you are not German. Communication is limited and shared in German mainly. The tour operator talks a good talk about conserving the turtle nesting grounds but have no issues in digging out and disturbing the turtle nests and letting people play with the new hatchlings and releasing them. It is a hour there, a hour on the beach and a hour drive back. The tour guide did not make any effort in engaging with the 3 clients sitting with her inside the vehicle on the way there or back which was awkward at best. She also missed our booking and then was an hour late when she rescheduled the next day.
