Hike to Gaztelugatxe and Visit Ondarroa

Bermeo - After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Bermeo. Visit the iconic San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, also known as the castle rock, located off the shore along the Bay of Biscay, 35 km (22 miles) east of Bilbao. The island is connected to the mainland by a man-made stone bridge, leading to a narrow path with 241 steps zigzagging to the top. These famous steps were featured in season 7 of Game of Thrones. Enjoy lunch.

Experience San Sebastian: Urgull Hill and Old Town

Monte Urgull - After breakfast, walk through town to the top of Urgull Hill, offering one of the best views in town. At the summit stands a Sacred Heart Christ statue overlooking San Sebastian. The hike takes about 30 minutes through the wooded hill.

Basilica de Santa Maria del Coro - On the way back, explore San Sebastian’s old town, starting with the Basilica of Santa María del Coro, an impressive 18th-century Baroque building on Calle Mayor in the heart of the Old Town (Parte Vieja). Stroll through the pedestrian-friendly streets lined with historic buildings housing numerous restaurants, shops, and bars. It’s the best nightlife spot in San Sebastian and the perfect place to enjoy pintxos (local light bites similar to tapas).

La Concha Beach - In the afternoon, relax at La Concha Beach, just a short distance from Parte Vieja. The beach stretches about a mile wide and offers stunning views of Monte Urgull, Monte Igueldo, and Santa Clara Island, along with the beautiful architecture bordering La Concha Promenade. Mercado Les Halles - After breakfast, drive to explore the lesser-known French Basque Country, or Iparralde (Northern Lands), crossing the Spain-France border into the Belle Epoque towns and villages. First, visit Biarritz, a chic coastal gem an hour northeast of San Sebastian. Stroll through the glamorous streets, admire the 12th-century Church of Saint-Martin, and explore Les Halles de Biarritz, a renowned food market offering regional cheeses, wines, and seasonal delights. Mercado Les Halles de St Jean de Luz - In the afternoon, head south to St. Jean de Luz, a charming fishing village. Visit Pamplona: The Town of the Running of the Bulls

Cafe Iruna - After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive an hour south to Pamplona, famous for its Running of the Bulls festival (San Fermín festival). Stroll along the famous Estafeta Street or visit Café Iruña, immortalized by Ernest Hemingway in ‘The Sun Also Rises.’

Plaza del Castillo - Walk the path of the bulls during the festival. Visit Castillo Square, City Hall, the Ciudadella defensive walls, and historic sites in the Old Quarter like San Saturnino & San Lorenzo church, and the local market. Enjoy lunch, then head back to Bilbao, a two-hour drive away, arriving in the early afternoon. End of the tour.
