Gaztelugatxe, Mundaka & Gernika Tour – A Memorable Day - This tour was a highlight of my trip to the Basque Country. Pilar, our guide, was knowledgeable, engaging, and spoke excellent English—her insights brought each stop to life. The itinerary was well-paced, covering stunning coastal views and culturally rich towns. Traveling in a private group made the experience feel personal and relaxed. If you’re looking to explore northern Spain beyond Bilbao, this tour is a fantastic choice.

A great trip to view the land and some of its history - The walk/hike out to the “end of land” was exhilarating but tough! Comfortable, hiking shoes are a must. Be prepared for cold or hot or rainy weather. Bring plenty of water if the weather is warm

Sun, Sea, and Steps in Northern Spain - We did a small group tour to Gaztelugatxe, Mundaka, and Gernika with Arur on Friday, September 12, 2025. We had to change up the tour order because of some filming taking place at Gaztelugatxe that morning, which was fine with our group. It was a little overcast and drizzly at Gernika, but it fit the mood, given the history of the city. Arur had some personal connections to the city's tragic events, which made the visit that much more impactful. Mundaka was a very cool surfing town, and it was amazing to experience a bit of the Urdaibai Nature Reserve. Gaztelugatxe was as incredible as we thought it would be. That being said, it could be considered quite challenging, especially the walk back to the parking area after having completed an approximately 1-km hike to the bottom of the monument and then the 241 winding stone steps to the top and back. It felt like quite the accomplishment, however, and the view was fantastic! It was the perfect trifecta of sites, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating of our small group.

Amazing tour of amazing locations! - This was a fantastic tour! Our guide was Nora and she had so much information about the area, spoke excellent english, and was also funny. The locations were amazing, the group was small (only 8 people/all english speakers), and it was just a great day! I would absolutely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the beautiful towns and beaches of the northern Spain Basque country.

Worth the 6 hours! - Eduardo was a fantastic guide. Plenty of knowledge and very compassionate about the history of the area. Able to tell the stories very well. The hike in/out of Gaztelugatxe is a legit hike. You’ll want water, layers of clothes (be prepared for weather changes) and need to be on at least average shape. The change in altitude was 775 feet over the 2.5 mile trek. Mundaka and was a quick stop for a bite, while Gernika had so much history to be told! Definitely recommend the tour and really appreciated the effort by Eduardo

very nice - The tour guide was great! I was amazed by how much we saw. The van was a little crowded, so it would have been nicer with six people instead of eight.
