Participants will be equipped with helmets, harnesses, and all necessary gear at the parking area. The guide will lead the short walk to the canyon’s entrance. Inside the canyon, you’ll hike and possibly scramble to the first rappel, where the guide will provide instruction on technique and maintain a backup belay for constant safety. The canyon features a total of three rappels. As you enjoy your journey through the stunning canyon walls, your guide will take photos to capture the experience.
At the canyon’s end, you’ll scramble up a sandstone slab and hike back to the main trailhead. The entire adventure is estimated to take 3-4 hours from start to finish.
This is one of the most beautiful and accessible slot canyons in the Page/Lake Powell area. It is beginner-friendly, and our guides are confident that anyone ready for the challenge can successfully complete it!

Blue Pools is an excellent canyon for beginners. It features 3 to 4 rappels and a scramble/hike back to the car. The tallest rappel is 55 feet. We plan for this trip to take 2 to 3 hours, depending on the size of the group. All of our trips are private, so you won’t be waiting on anyone outside your group. You’ll meet your guide at the trailhead, get outfitted with the necessary canyon gear, and then your guide will lead you through this beautiful slot canyon. The canyon has been primarily shaped by water erosion over time, creating a natural obstacle course. While the canyon is usually dry, it can retain some water after a storm.

We will meet our clients at the Blue Pools Wash Trailhead off HWY 89. The pull off is a gravel Road and Parking is right off the road next to a wire fence. Your guide will text you exact pin the day before your tour.

Great canyoneering tour with Mike - Went on a girls weekend trip and booked a canyoneering tour through the slot canyons with Sundial Guiding. Mike was our guide and was excellent! We misunderstood the time change and he was kind without a word frustration when we arrived 40 minutes late.
My friends and I had the best time. I’ve been rappelling on several other tours and Mike was the best guide I’ve had.

Great tour, a must do - We had fantastic time with guide Mike and his furry assistant. Our first time repelling and we loved it from start to finish. Mike made it informative, reasonably challenging and very safe at the same time. Instructions were clear, jokes were funny, timing was perfect. A must do experience if you’re visiting the area.

Wife's bucket list adventure - A repelling adventure was on my 61 year old wife's bucket list. So I booked an adventure with Canyoneering near Lake Powell. We met up with our Guide Jared at 8am. I am a 64 year old man with Parkinson's disease that causes me to have balance issues and I am not thrilled with heights. Jarod thoroughly explained everything and made us feel totally at ease. We had never repelled before and my wife was a little apprehensive at the first repell so I went first. After seeing how much I enjoyed it she was ready to go. There were four repells to get through the canyon with each one longer than the previous one. We had a blast and wished we could do more. Very fun. Jarod was an excellent guide. The only negative was the hot hike through the hot desert back to our parking spot. Highly recommend this company and we are ready to go again.

Best canyoneering trip! - We did a canyoneering excursion with Jared. We had no experience coming in but were excited to try something new. It did not disappoint. Jared was super friendly and a great instructor. We felt comfortable and able to complete several repels, the last one was an add-on, for anyone who feels comfortable, at nearly 80 feet! Spectacular scenery and Jared shared a lot of great information about the area as we navigated the canyon. He made the experience unforgettable. Anyone with any level of proficiency would enjoy this trip. We highly recommend!

Great guide, exciting adventure, stunning sandstone canyons - We had a great time canyoneering with Mike! He was super knowledgeable, made us feel safe at all times and really made our experience exciting and memorable. It was only three of us, including two teenagers who were fit and agile, so we finished our circuit ahead of schedule. Instead of going home (which he totally could have chosen to do) Mike extended our adventure and introduced us to a new circuit he had discovered himself . As a result, he added 4 extra rappels and the most fun and challenging part of the adventure as a bonus. We got to explore a whole new beautiful canyon with stunning vistas . Mike was amazing at explaining how to navigate it (it was certainly a more challenging itinerary) , at predicting each step and providing clear and calm guidance . Amazing experience!! We were delighted with Mikes knowledge and his great climbing stories and recommend Mike and the canyoneering adventure near Lake Powell hands down.

Wonderful adventure near Page for active people wanting a unique slot canyon experience - Our adventure with guide Jared was outstanding. He met us at a designated point off the highway and near the slot canyon site.
We were a group of two couples (all in our 60s) who had each rappelled one time before. Jared made sure we we safely equipped, understood how the gear worked, and what to expect. He was thorough but not overbearing in his presentation.
This adventure hike included 4 rappels that increased in length from 15’ to near 100’ (or it seemed like it). Your journey includes scrambles over rocks in the slot canyon. Our day included huge puddles of mud and quicksand in on the trek, with some thought out leaps of faith to avoid a mud bath. With the weather being drizzly, we got a bit of mud on us - it added to the adventure. Once done in the slot canyon, you hike out to what would be the edge of the high water level of Lake Powell. From that point Jarad had us scramble up a large, smooth and rounded 120+ foot rock face where we posed for a group photo. You then hike back across the desert along paths that lead you back to the starting point about 2.5 hours from the start.
If you want an excellent time, give this non-advaced, yet physically exerting adventure a go. You are safe being guided by Jared and will feel very enriched by your time spent with him.

Amazing morning in Escalante - We had a great time canyoneering with Jared. The views were amazing and we learned so much about the area’s geology and history. We were lucky to go during rainy season so that there was some water at the bottom of the rappels, making the experience extra exciting. We appreciated the flexibility to move our tour up a few hours and avoid the afternoon thunderstorms.
