Enjoy a breathtaking Kona sunset aboard our spacious 50’ catamaran as you cruise along the Kona coast, followed by an unforgettable adventure - snorkeling with the magnificent manta rays! Upon arrival, receive a comprehensive introduction to one of the ocean’s most enigmatic creatures. Join our professional and certified guides in the water as you snorkel with the majestic hahalua (manta rays). Snorkel gear, instruction, wetsuits, and swim noodles are provided. Complimentary water, juice, soft drinks, and hot cocoa are included.

Guests have the option to purchase beer, wine, and cocktails from our fully stocked bar.

Children must be accompanied by an adult
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Any tour participants that are getting in the water MUST KNOW HOW TO SWIM without the assistance of a flotation device
Children under the age of 5 are not allowed in the water and MUST be accompanied by an adult on the vessel at all times
Guests are asked to check-in at our KONASTYLE retail outlet 45 MINUTES PRIOR to your scheduled departure time. We are located in the Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha Beach Kona Hotel. Our address is 75-5660 Palani Road, Suite C8, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740
We offer discounted self parking at the Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha Hotel. Parking charge is $13 for up to 5.5 hours. Please remember to bring your parking ticket with you at check-in.
PLEASE NOTE that trip start times VARY throughout the year to accommodate for the time changes of the setting sun.
PLEASE NOTE that full-face snorkel masks are NOT allowed to be used by guests
Not recommended for travelers that are not strong swimmers. If guest is not a competent swimmer (as determined by the Captain and/or crew), they will be directed to immediately return to the vessel. In such instances the guest will NOT be refunded
Not recommended for travelers that are prone to seasickness / motion sickness
Guests weighing more than 300 lb (136 kg) are NOT allowed in the water as our water entry / exit staircase has a specific weight limit
Not recommended for travelers with a history of panic attacks

Best for families and couples - Captain Dan and his crew were amazing. Honestly we saw a lot of boats and crews and our boat was by far the nicest and because of the crews experience we were able to get a prime viewing area despite the many other boats. The sunset was gorgeous the drinks were flowing and the hot chocolate post dive was PERFECT.

An amazing excursion absolutely everyone should try!! The mantas are beautiful - My husband and I went out last night on the Manta snorkel. It was amazing and I would highly recommend everyone try it at least once. It was my second time night snorkeling with the mantas and I would do it again and again. The boat ride to the snorkel site took about 30 minutes, and was a lovely ride down the coastline. We enjoyed the sunset while sailing. There is a bar available for soft drinks and alcohol, tap to pay or credit card only. On arrival, the crew did a great job getting everyone comfortable and into the water. It was well organized with a friendly staff. Bonus, the masks and snorkels were high quality, which matters! Once in the water, I feel we were maybe a bit more tightly packed along the rafts you hold onto during the excursion than I had been previously, but not unreasonably so. I am anticipating some wonderful pictures from my dive camera, but haven't looked just yet. The mantas come right up to you in the water, so the opportunity for pictures is amazing. Give this activity a go, even if it makes you nervous!!

Epic Manta Rays - This was such an amazing experience! The crew was so wonderful. They took amazing care of our family!!!! The Manta Ray show was epic! They came so close and were so peaceful and gentle. We loved every part of it. Thanks KonaStyle for making our Hawaii vacation amazing.

A bucket list ‘check the box’ experience - This is a bucket list ‘check the box’ experience! Other worldly having these 12ft gentle giant’s swim literally inches from your face mask. At one point we had eight large manta’s feeding directly in front /below us. If you’re intimidated, like my wife was initially, don’t be. Nothing to be afraid of. The crew is there to walk you through it with kindness and expertise. If you’re going to do this, and you absolutely should, then do it with Kona Experience. Fabulous crew. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Captain Dan runs a tight ship. The catamaran is large, nice and well maintained. It’s easy to enter and exit the water through the stairs between the front hulls. The sunset cruise was well worth the extra few dollars to add to the Manta Ray experience. We will be back, and next time will bring the whole family.

Amazing Kona Style Manta trip - What an awesome experience! The very best thing we’ve done in a week’s holiday post-Ironman. The trip was superbly well organised, the crew were friendly and informative, and safety conscious. We were blessed with 45 minutes of manta rays swimming right up to us, inches away. Very highly recommended - not to be missed!

Unforgettable - Did the sunset manta ray experience on 10/1 with Capt Tanner and crew. I don’t know what I was expecting apparently because from the moment the first ray came into sight, which was within 5 minutes of getting in the water, I was absolutely in awe. They were EVERYWHERE. Huge majestic beings just gliding and eating. At one point I counted 8 but I am certain there were more. To say it was life-changing is not an understatement at all. Worth every penny and more.

A Very Cool Experience - What a cool experience! The whole sunset and night snorkeling with mantas was great - from the nice boat to the friendly crew, to just how amazing it is to have these giants swimming right next to your face. I had a GoPro in one of my hands, leaning against the light board and it looks like they might swallow it in several videos. They reall are that close. I also enjoyed the guide giving us facts during the snorkel. The crew is great, very friendly and always making sure you have what you need. A very fun way to spend an evening!

Amazing and worth it! - It was the highlight of my vacation. At first I was a little creeped out but soon calmed down and was able to appreciate the beauty of these amazing creatures. We saw many mantas from start to finish. The boat crew was super helpful and knowledgeable and I felt safe. Highly recommend!!
