Quality, Environmentally Friendly Cruise - We had an excellent experience with Fairwinds. We were warmly greeted upon check in and offered reef friendly sun lotion and coffee while waiting for our boat. The captain greeted us and was very clear on the trip itinerary and safety protocols before we boarded. There was ample space to spread out, and we were treated to a delightful breakfast of coconut overnight oats with fruit, etc while on our way to our first destination, which was the choice of the captain. We were unable to pursue the desired snorkel spot due to high swell, and we personally respect that the captain prioritized safety of the passengers. He came up with an alternative spot and walked through those changes. We actively looked for marine life while we cruised. The snorkeling itself was a great experience, clear water, beautiful reefs and ample marine life. There was the opportunity to SUP and a variety of floatation devices available to use. The fish guide on the boat was fun to review after the fact to name our sightings. We learned about the history of the area and the many efforts of Fairwinds to improve and positively contribute to the future of the Kona coast through their sustainability efforts. As someone with celiac, it's rare to find organizations that can accommodate safely my dietary needs with such high quality foods. Everything was absolutely delicious and super filling. We had a tremendous time and would take a Fairwinds cruise again without hesitation.

Rainy day saved - Rainy day saved. I was worried when a morning call changed our reservation from a two stop snorkeling trip to one. It was sprinkling out and the smaller boat was not being used. We saw many varieties of fish at Captain Cook memorial reef. We had 2 hours including lunch to snorkel. I was having so much fun even though I was cold. Last one in the boat!

Top Notch Experience! - A top notch experience all the way around! The Fair Winds II boat(big) was awesome…lots of seating on upper and lower(has booth style tables/seats) decks. Food/drink was great and crew were attentive and helpful, especially when it came to the main event: 2.5 hrs of snorkeling near the Captain Cook Monument. Fair Winds is the only boat that gets to moor in the Kealakekua Bay near the shoreline! This makes for a great snorkel experience. The coral variety here is spectacular, probably the best in the Hawaiian islands. The boat has wide staircases descending into the water for an easy entry/exit with fresh water rinse and 2 bathrooms for changing. Slides + dive platform were well used by the many youngsters onboard. The Crew goes the extra mile to be proactively helpful and even had a hydrophone on hand to listen to Humpback whale calls when the boat paused enroute for a brief whale viewing when a Humpback+baby were spotted. Highly recommend!

Happy Place Yet Again - As always, the Fairwind was an amazing experience. We have done this trip 4 times now... and this one was incredible. We saw more wildlife than ever before- humpback whales breaching, spinner dolphins, bottle nose dolphins, honu, flying fish, a million different fish at Kealakekua. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. We will be back.

An amazing, must-do tour! - Very well organized trip - I would definitely recommend this to everyone! We saw spinner dolphins and a baby humpback whale on the way out to the snorkeling site. The captain gave some history about the Captain Cook monument and other Hawaiian cultural sites as we passed them along the coast. Snorkeling was lovely and, for those who were less enthusiastic about the fish, the water slides and high dive platform were lots of fun! I'd recommend arriving early as the parking lot fills up fast.

Highly recommend! - Two families (young adults and parents) really enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend it. It is our second time to this Bay on a similar tour. The staff were all terrific. The gorgeous water, snorkeling, food and watching a herd of feral goats scale the cliff all made for a wonderful experience!

Must Do on Hawaii! - We had an amazing time snorkeling in this beautiful bay! My youngest was scared of getting in the water at first but the crew was super accommodating and helpful and she was able to enjoy seeing some fish! The tour was well organized and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely do this snorkel trip again when we visit.

Overbearing large boat - We were snorkelers in the water when this huge boat pushed into the cove at the Captain Cook monument and yelled at the snorkelers and kayakers to get out of the way. They were by far the biggest boat by about 3x there and all the other boats kept their distance and let the snorkelers swim in without crowding the cove. I’m not sure why they think they own the area but I would never recommend booking a tour with them. Completely disrespected the environment and people who were there already.
