• Snorkel Big Island - Begin your Manta Ray Snorkeling Adventure on the North side of Honokohau Small Boat Harbor. Our friendly check-in staff will provide you with a shorty wetsuit (included) to ensure maximum comfort during your snorkeling experience.

Board our spacious, safe, and comfortable USCG-documented vessel for a 15-20 minute journey as our licensed and certified captains and guides describe the scenic coastline.

Upon reaching the snorkel site, the crew will prioritize your safety as you enter the water to snorkel closely with Kona’s renowned Manta Rays. In-water guides will share fascinating facts about the rays and surrounding wildlife.

All guests will hold onto our floating, custom light board, equipped with the latest, powerful underwater lights. This gives our guests an edge over other operators and ensures an unforgettable wildlife encounter.

Wetsuits, snorkel gear, and personal attention are provided to every guest, along with additional flotation and assistance for those who request it.

An exciting opportunity for a seasoned company and team. Snorkel Big Island has been offering Manta Ray Snorkel Excursions for over 12 years. The focus on detail, safety, and the expertise of the crew make this excursion unique. During this tour, participants can explore either the northern manta site near Kona airport or head further south to Keauhou, depending on where the best manta sightings are. The licensed captains and committed guides go above and beyond to ensure the best viewing experience.

Prior swimming and snorkeling experience is necessary to book this activity. Guests must be able to independently climb a side boat ladder. It is not recommended for guests who have recently undergone surgery or have mobility/physical limitations. It is also not recommended for pregnant women. Please contact the tour operator for any exceptions.

• Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Snorkel Big Island cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night for a rebooking fee. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.
