The salt is meticulously hand-harvested by skilled Salt Makers from deep ocean water sourced from 2,200 feet below the surface. During the tour, participants will discover the cultural importance of Hawaiian salt (paʻakai), the path of the ultra-pure water, and the solar-evaporation method used. Guests can indulge in a guided salt tasting, featuring pure, flavored, and smoked varieties.
Optional cold deep ocean water foot soaks are offered. For those with limited time, the retail store is conveniently located just minutes from the airport, making it an ideal first or last stop in Kona for travelers.
