2 for 1 adventure - This trip lived up to the hype. Small group, great locations, guides and local snacks. As a bonus, we were treated to lots of whale activity. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience! - I absolutely highly recommend this experience!! The staff was extremely kind, sweet, funny, knowledgable, and just the sweetest and friendliest! Their customer service alone was incredible! The boat was super cool! I had never done a speed boat like this one and I enjoyed it! It felt safe and adventurous and still spacious! We got to see bottle nose and spinner dolphins! We had two great snorkel spots including captain cook! And we saw other landmarks along the way! The captain was extremely well versed on the history of Hawaii! The snacks were also super yummy and high quality! It was literally a perfect day! The morning time just feels so calm but still lively! I also rented a go pro and it was affordable and easy to use! They were extremely helpful with that! This was one of my favorite experiences! Would definitely tour with them again!

Great Family Experience - Best experience. Our tour guides were fantastic. They were friendly and helpful. Visited 2 snorkeling sites and lava caves. Dolphins sited and followed. This tour company provided the most enjoyable time for our family. Would highly recommend.

Captain Natalie and deck... - Captain Natalie and deck hand Chloe were awesome! We started the morning with a spinner dolphin pod , ran into a pod of bottle nose dolphins and then onto the snorkeling . Clarity of water was out of this world! Loved the history lesson so much and geological lesson as well. Would 100% recommend sea quest for your adventures in Kona / the big Island. Thank you for everything. We will be back for sure! ~Schulz family

Great, first time snorkel experience for a family - We had an extremely competent captain and first mate. Captain “B” handled the boat adeptly as we got close enough to the shoreline to really see the rock archways and caves dotting the coast. And she shared interesting geographical and historic information along the way. B and Carolina created a fun atmosphere, and kept us all safe without it being a drudge. For someone who can get easily seasick, the no pressure atmosphere was greatly appreciated. And they were really good at getting long hair untangled from masks.

Incredible snorkeling spots and fabulous Captain! - We had another wonderful snorkeling morning with Sea Quest! Captain Brenna was a skilled boat driver and was very knowledgeable. She was extremely entertaining! The snorkeling spots were incredible, especially Kealakekua Bay ( Captain Cook Monument). We LOVE that spot!! We highly recommend Sea Quest and snorkel with them every time we come to the Big Island.

Must Do on Your Bucket List - My husband and I just finished one of the best experiences we have had in a life time. We have gone on several other snorkeling excursions but this one by far blew everything else out of the water. Michael and Taylor were incredible guides. There are no cheese one liners or gimmicks. Instead, a tour with people who bring great positive energy for a good time. You will get a wealth of knowledge about Hawaii, see once in a lifetime beautiful scenery and wild life. We were lucky to see a bunch of dolphins, sea turtles and surplus of many kinds of fish on each of our stops which all had their own unique venues that we got to enjoy without being one of those tour groups sucked in with a bunch of others. Some of our stops along the way to our snorkeling allowed up to take an up close look sea caves, see the hillside scenery, other history built into the island. Even the food was incredibly freshly prepared and the time length for the trip was just about right with the afternoon weather rolling in. Let’s not forget Marilyn who helped us out initially getting set up. Hats off to her for providing prescription goggles which my husband was able to see better far than without. Overall, this was a hard trip to top for us and we recommend if you are looking for that small group excursion, take a peak at Sea Quest!

Fantastic Adventure - What an absolutely fantastic day with Capt Kevin and Kristin- the weather was gorgeous and the sea's calm- The boat was very well cared for, staff was so pleasant and accommodating- anticipating needs, being so kind and reassuring. SeaQuest is the best- semi private, educational if you want- They are a very active member of our community as well- I recommend to all- thx SQ !!

Limited guest care during bad weather - not deluxe - Don’t gamble with SeaQuest if you’re not sure of the weather since there’s no customer aftercare!!! I did the K Bay snorkeling a few months ago with a different company and loved it so much! So I booked an even longer one with SeaQuest wanting to get more flavors of the Kona shore snorkeling experience. Everyone could tell the waves were high that day and snorkeling at a few of the different locations are probably going to be hard - yet we still made the trip out to all the locations just to “confirm” we couldn’t go into the water which was a bit unnecessary (even my uber driver commented on the waves being bad for snorkeling). So the first hour and something we were on an extremely bouncy boat where you hold on to dear life and listen to captain Mike mumble about how we may not be able to go into waters ….with at least two people besides me on the boat getting motion sickness from the continuous long ride. After checking three different locations and “confirming” that oh yea waves were indeed bad and you can’t get into waters, captain Mike said we’ll go to two locations near the K Bay (because the deluxe trip advertised two locations of snorkeling, which was why I signed up). I almost snorted when I found out by 2 locations, captain Mike meant the left and right side of the captain cook monument. This was so ridiculously funny in that moment that it eased my motion sickness a little bit - but we were dropped at the far right side of the touristy captain cook area and picked up, only to ride to the far left side of that area (which I easily swam over in under 10 min in the first “dive”) and pretended we got two dives. Believe me I don’t assume SeaQuest could control weather, but given the prosperous tour business along this shore and how big their company was this type of “skimping” was not at all deluxe for me. Having had similar situations on another island, I half thought they’d either cancel the tour, or be upfront about it and downgrade it to something shorter (a readily available option they already offer) and refund the price difference. But absolutely no aftercare was provided. The left and right side of the pool experience was offered as the “deluxe” snorkeling tour. Having done a lot of boat tours on this island and others, I just really want to provide my experience here so you understand what you’re signing up for. Weather happens, and maybe I’m lucky but all the bad weather tours I ran into were either cancelled, partially refunded, offered a free second go, or converted into something else (snorkeling turned into whale watching), but I got nothing with SeaQuest. So this is not the smoothest handling of an expected bad condition, and no my expectations weren’t too high. My other comment is that I do think SeaQuest is trying to do good businesses and my crew Brooke was super nice. Captain Mike on the other hand didn’t seem like he was cut out for this job, his boating skills were fine but his tourguiding techniques and people skills were just a bit lackluster. I’ve heard the Moana story and Captain cook history as part of these boat tours from another smaller company captain so i know this is not the most engaging storytell. He also ignored me, the solo traveler, during a very cringey ice breaking activity when he asked where everyone was from. The lady next to me voiced for me and included me in the convo, and all I got from captain Mike was more secondhand embarrassment…. I wrote all this long to share the message to please consider the trade-off between a seasoned enthusiastic captain of a smaller company who runs all their tours, versus a novice(?) captain recruited and trained by a big company who works a shift schedule who will get you to where the tour dictates but that’s about it. And the small company who’s willing to do more for the customers for ratings and word of mouth recommendations in unexpected conditions, and a big company who’s got packed bookings that they run with operational protocols. It surely affected my tour experience!!! After a very meh morning, I went back and decided not to book that manta ray tour with them and went with another small company, which salvaged my day and I had a great time!!
