Don’t Want To Miss - Our tour guy Big Mike was awesome. The tour was amazing and his hospitality was the best. He’s very knowledgeable in the history of the island and the culture and we learned a lot. The food spot he took us to for lunch was amazing. I would definitely recommend this tour. We had a great experience.

Let it rain tour, We're going anyway. - If tour guides had rock star status Big Mike would be a Super Star, March 17th we sat right behind him in his tour bus. After being stuck on a cruise ship because of rain for a week and everyone else canceling he just took us where he could, Very knowledgeable and has a personality you will never forget. Can't thank him enough.

Big Mike, our tour guide... - Big Mike, our tour guide was and driver was wonderful! He was very personable and very knowledgeable about the island. Had pictures on the monitor in the front of the van for us all to look at while he was driving and explaining the different species of plants and animals and things about the island. We were lucky enough to see the volcano Kilauea erupt and it was a fantastic

Great way to see the Big Island - It's great for solo travelers. Our guide was great, and very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and culture, and about unique Hawaiian plants and animals. Lunch was great, and there was a lot of flexibility to accommodate our needs.

Volcano, waterfalls and more! - I cannot say enough about the wonderful day we had with Mike of Lehua Tours. We got to view so many beautiful sights of Hawaii. It was very apparent that Mike loves his home island and its heritage. Excellent!

Great tour with Big Mike! Travel Agrnt Approved! - Big Mike was an amazing tour guide. Being born and raised in Hawaii, he knows the island inside and out. He takes different routes whenever he can, so you’re not jumbled up with a bunch of tourists. It made everything feel more personal, and not like a typical tourist experience.
From the start, he made us feel welcome and comfortable. He drives a brand new passenger van, and he’s clearly thought about all the little details. He has rain ponchos and umbrellas if the weather turns, and he keeps water and juice on hand all day. Those small things really make a difference.
One of my favorite moments was when we stopped at a local farmers market. Mike bought fresh fruit and later shared it with us while we were at the black sand beach. The apple bananas were incredible, definitely try them if you get the chance. It was such a thoughtful gesture.
Lunch was included and at a true local spot, which I really appreciated. It was nice to eat somewhere authentic instead of a touristy restaurant. The only suggestion I shared with Mike is that it would have been nice if he joined us for lunch instead of eating in the van, but honestly, it didn’t take away from the experience at all.
Another really special touch was the handmade lei his wife makes for each guest. Being greeted with a lei at the beginning of the tour was beautiful and meaningful.
Mike is also great about taking photos and is happy to help capture memories for you.
Overall, it was a genuinely an authentic Big Island experience. As both a travel agent and someone who travels often, I highly recommend booking a tour with him.

Thoroughly recommend this tour - Cannot fault our day out with ‘Big Mike’. We found Mike online and booked for a day trip when we were visiting Hilo on a cruise. Mike was at the cruise port waiting to pick us up. The vehicle was new and spacious. Mike gave us lots of information about our destination and shared his experiences of growing up on the island. We had a nice lunch and visited the volcano, waterfalls, lava tubes and black sand beach and we had a really enjoyable day. Mike ensured we that although a full day out we were back on the ship in plenty of time before departure and structured his tour to ensure it finishes not far from the ship. We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour. Thanks Mike, we had a brilliant day.

Excellent tour - Big Mike did an excellent job on this tour. Lehua tours provides all the extras from a handmade lei to delicious lunch at a quaint cafe. Mike is very knowledgeable of the history of the area and really informed us on customs, stories, myths of the area. The local fruits were really enjoyed at the beach. Keep up the good work and you will be a success. Thanks for the hospitality and good memories. Best wishes.
