Amazing Experience - Wonderful experience. The best part is that you leave with a mini carpet piece of your own making. Absolutely recommended!

I recommend 100% - a very entertaining and relaxing workshop perfect for connecting with culture! You choose the pattern, decide the colors and help you with everything you need, while serving sweets and fruit. The truth is that we loved the experience and the result!!! :)

Great experience!! - Hosts were very responsive to messages and very helpful with guiding us to the workshop. The event itself was very engaging and although it was a bit difficult at first, it was pretty simple once you learned the motions. 100% will come again and will recommend to anyone who comes to Istanbul. It was right by Istiklal Street, so it was a nice little quiet break from the crowds.

I loved this Turkish... - I loved this Turkish Carpet & Rug Weaving Workshop in Istanbul! It was one of the highlights of my trip. Ilker was welcoming and knowledgeable - they shared fascinating insights about the centuries-old art of Turkish weaving and guided us through every step of the process. What made it special was how hands-on the experience was. I got to actually try traditional weaving techniques using looms and colorful threads, which gave me a whole new appreciation for how much skill and artistry goes into each carpet. The atmosphere was relaxed, creative, and filled with genuine Turkish hospitality. Whether you’re an art lover, a culture enthusiast, or just looking for something authentic and meaningful to do in Istanbul, this workshop is a must! I left with not only a small piece I wove myself but also a deep admiration for this beautiful tradition. Highly recommended!

Trip highlight! - I saw this carpet weaving workshop advertised on a few different sites. Making a reservation was easy, and soon after, I received the information about the location with clear directions. The workshop was cozy and traditional music was playing. Ilker, the instructor was friendly and patient. He took me through the weaving process step by step. I had a great time chatting and learning about Turkish culture as I worked on my loom. I left with a little piece I made myself and a whole new appreciation for the craft. Definitely recommend this if you want to do something hands-on and local while in Istanbul!

An immersion in culture - I enjoyed myself immensely at the Turkish Rug Weaving Workshop. Ilker is both a warm, welcoming host and a talented, enthusiastic teacher. He provided information about the origins of the craft, the colours normally used and the meaning of commonly used symbols. He clearly explained the steps involved in creating our carpets and patiently dealt with our various needs as we progressed at different speeds through the creative process. Drinks and snacks were provided in abundance. I left with a much better understanding of the complexity and time consuming nature of this craft, especially those rugs created with fine yarns. I highly recommend this activity to anyone wanting to engage with Turkish history and culture in a different way.
