Superb Gallipoli and Troy tour - An altogether seamless trip, which was very well organised with superb, knowledgeable and friendly helpful guides- Charles(?) who was our guide for Gallipoli was especially good. The hotel in Çanakkale was lovely and the guide who took us there on the ferry told us bars, restaurants etc to go to. Would definitely use again if ever visiting in the future.

Great Experience - We had an incredible 2-day experience, starting with a 6:30 AM pickup from Istanbul. We traveled on a minibus (17 passengers in a 20-seater), with a 45-minute stop for coffee at a gas station about 2.5 hours into the journey. After another 2.5 hours, we arrived at our starting point, checked in, and had lunch before heading to Gallipoli around 12:30 PM. While not far distance-wise, the Gallipoli tour lasted 3 hours, and offered a look at the many battlefields and cemeteries. It was a moving, especially for the Australians in our group. The highlight was definitely our guide, Chuck. He possessed incredible historical knowledge, balancing detailed history with independent time. He read the group well and added warm-hearted insights throughout. We arrived back at the check-in point around 5 PM and took the ferry over to Asia, where we had from 5:30 PM until 12:30 PM the next day to explore on our own. Our hotel, the Artur, was better than expected and in a perfect location. The only minor improvement would be the breakfast, which was somewhat lackluster (though perhaps just cultural). At 12:30 PM on the second day, we met our next guide for the tour of Troy. I loved his storytelling, like Chuck, he found the right balance and provided fascinating theories. I can best describe exploring Troy as being like visiting Pompeii and learning history through the excavations. This tour felt shorter but was still well worth it. We left around 3:30 PM to catch the ferry back, boarded the bus to Istanbul, took a 30-minute break, and returned to our hotel around 8:30 PM. Overall, this was an excellent "off the beaten path" excursion. While you could do it on your own, the tour company handled every detail.

Wonderful from start to finish - Highly recommend the 2 day with 1 overnight night stay tours of Gallipoli and Troy. Our tours this week were enjoyable, seemless and flawless from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel in Istanbul by minibus with other passengers and had a delightful short stop for breakfast half way to Eceabat. Once there we visited the Crowded House office for a few minutes before a short walk to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch (included). We enjoyed a short break after lunch to explore the war memorials and seafront in Eceabat. Then we met our informative and experienced guide Burak for our tour of Gallipoli who shared a lot of knowledge, stories, history and information on the area. After this tour Burak took us on the ferry to Cannakale and another guide Serhat walked us a few minutes to our hotel near the seafront. We arrived at our hotel around 5.30pm giving us enough time to explore, have dinner and enjoy an early night. The next day we had free time in the morning and then we met our guide Hasan on the minibus to take us to nearby Troy for a tour of the archaeological site. Hasan was also very experienced and knowledgeable and brought the area to life with his stories. After this tour we were taken to Cannakale ferry to cross back over to Eceabat to take the minibus back to Istanbul. We stopped at another delightful restaurant to enjoy a quick dinner before arriving back at our hotel in Istanbul in the evening. We had a young child with us and Burak and Hasan kept him engaged and interested throughout both tours and we all learned a lot. We met several drivers and many staff at the Crowded House Tours office and they were all welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They are a first class company and can highly recommend them. We will certainly return to enjoy their other tours.

2 day Gallipoli and Troy tour with expert private guide - The tour could not have been better. The hotel overnight was 5 star. All connections and transport were seamless and on time. Transport was very clean. The best part was the professional tour guide. So much knowledge and expertise. We wanted to break up the tour into 2 days to really explore and enjoy the trip. The drive from Istanbul is 4 to 5 hours. It can be done in a single day but its a very long trip. Recommend breaking up the tour as the overnight hotel is at a gorgeous seaside town. Day 2 at Troy wax well worth doing as well.

Go by all means - Greatest tour I ever been on. Would go back. In depth tour of what happened. More casualties at Gallipoli than at Normandy

Must do for Kiwi couple - This was a must for a couple of New Zealanders. We had Barack as a guide to Gallipoli and WOW, so much passion so much knowledge and great banta with the Aussies and Kiwi’s. It was great to have the morning to explore and have look around. Big travel with early morning but worth it.
