For die hard fans - This is a must do for die hard fans of Dirilis and Kurulus. I regret not coming earlier when Ertugrul was still being filmed. I would come back again to do this now that we could see the Orhan set being built. They are so beautiful! My recommendations to the studio: keep the set in good condition. It’s less work for later crews to come and use, and it looks like someone took pride in making them. Have more shows or exhibits like the glass working and horse show, let crowds pay extra to watch filming, and have more interactive exhibits. This tour felt commercial where as soon as we entered, we were offered an expensive opportunity to be filmed for $600 USD! The first 15-20 min was upselling and awkward, and our set guide was whisked away by staff to do that. My daughter and I happily went off on our own to explore and paid a reasonable $20 for archery. It would have been nice to learn natural remedies in the hakim tent, demonstrate the forge, Ayran mixing, kilim making like in the shows, even feed or shave/pet the sheep. Our tour itself started an hour later than marketed on Viator, but to the organizers’ credit, they communicated a later start time an day ahead. However, traffic caused a delay. Lunch is included on this tour and it’s a proper 4-course meal. Way too much delicious food. It felt like our driver really wanted us to buy merch in the gift shop, which is not cheap. However, the colognes in Har coffee shop on site are terrific and make great gifts. The coffee is incredible and the brownie there is the best you will ever eat in your life. Again, a lot of upselling items, none of which I need. I also did not need Bamsi Bey or Turgut Alp action figures from the gift shop, but did I buy them? YES! And demanded more characters. Finally, our package stated we had tickets to the Atatürk Cultural Center, too, which we did not receive. Not that I wanted to go there at all. But it should just be struck from the marketing material. I met some very nice people on this tour and my teenage daughter and I had a wonderful time. Like I said, we’d do this again!
