It took 13 years to build and was completed in 1856, and served as the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire until 1922.
The palace was commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecid (who decided there should be a more European palace than Topkapi) and designed by Armenian architect Karabet Balian and his son Nikoğos Balian. (read Balyan family on wikipedia). It is an ostentatious blend architectural styles including Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassical and modern Ottoman, dripping in luxury.

Highly recommended - We had a great time. The performers were energetic and entertaining. Food too was pretty good. All in all we loved the experience

Bosphorus dancing - The professional dancers and then inviting the dinner guests up to dance too.
The length of the boat excursion was adequate.
A suggestion, you might add in the side notes which drinks are included in the comprehensive package.

Bosphorus Boat trip - The Dinner Cruise was not what I expect. The food was not so nice, the service offered was poor, waiting long between meals, we r sitting at the tables like sardines , not enough eoom to move, hard to see the show as other people came in front of out tablw to take photos. At the end staff came and asked for a tip asking if you like the show to give them some money, the tip must be included in the tickets. The driver pick us up one hour late. I really want half of the money back.

My first visit. - The Cruise ship left the dock 45 minutes late and arrived 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled arrival meaning we lost 1:15 hour from our cruise time.
The Music was incredibly loud.
The Staff was very good and helpful.
The Shows were very entertaining.

Tourist Trap - It’s a tourist trap. Not worth it. Unless you are a fan of belly dancing the food is average. The views are great but over all not too impressive

THROW MONEY AWAY. - Well look, say you want to do it well, it is an experience, first of all they will try to deceive you in the price and of what they tell you to take 60 or 70% of what they ask, it is still very expensive, take a walk with a mackerel sandwich with the ticket of public transport and for about 3 euros person sandwich included you will see the same thing, you will eat better and you will not get mused by what you have paid for the ROMANTIC cruise with dinner.

Cheekiness - The show was fine. Food portion tasted good, but I personally found it too small. However, there was only one star because the driver who brought us to the tour was just gone after the show. Our group then stood there for half an hour in the cold and waited for the driver who has not come anymore. The worst thing about it was that a group of women with a baby were also there. We then informed at the boat and via WhatsApp, but nobody cared. In the end we took a taxi and then drove back to the hotel at our own expense. Then you just shouldn't offer a transfer. Failed all evening.
