- Lunuganga Garden Tour - Begin your itinerary with a visit to Bawa’s estate in Lunuganga. Sir Geoffrey Bawa, the esteemed lawyer turned architect, made this estate his country home from 1947 until his passing in 1998. During his time there, he used the estate as an experimental lab, adding many architectural and interior features. Visitors can explore the beautifully designed gardens, now open to the public, and some estate buildings that have been converted into a country house hotel. The estate tour lasts approximately two hours.
- Madu Ganga Biodiversity Area - Balapitiya, a small southern town, is nestled in marshy wetlands. This area is a biodiversity hotspot, centered around the lagoon formed by the Madu River as it flows into the Indian Ocean. The safari offers a river ride through dense mangrove forests along the marshy banks, home to diverse wildlife. Guides will also lead visitors to some of the larger islands on the Madu River, including one with an ancient Buddhist monastery. Cinnamon harvesting is the primary occupation in this region.
- Meetiyagoda - Located in southern Sri Lanka, Meetiyagoda is famous for its unique moonstone mines. These shimmering semi-precious stones, known for their iridescent glow, are extracted here amidst lush greenery. Visitors can observe traditional mining methods and purchase exquisite moonstone jewelry, making it a haven for gem enthusiasts.
- Galle - This coastal city has endured three foreign invasions, evolving from a bustling port into a fortified yet beautiful city with numerous monuments that have stood the test of time. Visitors can explore the Galle Fort, a World Heritage Site, the Galle Lighthouse, the National Maritime Museum, picturesque cobblestoned streets with Dutch names, and many other colonial relics.
