An exciting history lesson - The explanations as to how this boulevard came about were fascinating. In the beginning, c. 1952, the construction was indeed a project of the people. A history lesson, as I would have liked in school.

Superb - This was one of the best walking tours I have ever done. Named “Broken Utopias” when I did it, Marina gave a wonderfully prepared and thematic talk on life, architecture and politics in post WW ll. It was fascinating. Marina is knowledgeable, funny, super organized and kind. I look forward to doing another walk with her next time I am in Berlin

Enriching tour experience - I went on a historical tour of the Hansaviertel in Berlin with Luis, and it was absolutely fantastic!! Luis is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also deeply passionate about the city’s complex and layered history. His ability to bring historical facts to life through vivid storytelling stood out. I particularly loved discovering buildings I had never noticed before, despite having walked past them many times. Thanks to Luis, I gained a new appreciation for the role of international architects in the postwar reconstruction of the area—from Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer to Pierre Vago. Understanding the vision behind these projects added a whole new dimension to my experience of the city. What I appreciated most was how naturally he transmits his passion—his enthusiasm is infectious, and it genuinely draws you in. His detailed explanations of monuments, architecture, and historical moments made everything feel meaningful and connected. Highly recommended if you're looking for a thoughtful, enriching tour experience in Berlin different from the most common ones.

Really well researched tour - Really well researched tour. You can tell the guide burns for the topic, as she's created a lot of demo material and is even supplementing with original data from ebay

Opened a new world to us - If you enjoy history, architecture or a story well told, you may enjoy this tour. The tour guide, Martina, demonstrated both knowledge of and enthusiasm for the topic of the tour, which focused on how the hopes and dreams of the neighborhoods residents have betrayed across times and forms of government. Most of the focus was what it was to be an architect and resident of buildings in Karl Marks Allee, a broad boulevard in the former East Berlin.
