The Berkeley Plantation is well worth your visit! A beautiful property, the home and outbuildings have a fascinating history for the past 200 years, serving as the ancestral home for the famous Benjamin family as well as the area headquarters for the Union Army during the Civil War. Our tour guide was very well versed on all the history and was very entertaining as well, able to tie the complex web of stories into an informative narrative. Don't miss all the historical displays in the lower level. Enjoy!

The buildings and grounds were well maintained and we enjoyed seeing the interiors and strolling the property. Our tour guide was well informed, humourous and passionate about his job while welcoming questions as we proceeded. The basement museum was full of interesting artifacts which were explained by signage. Two films are available for visitors to learn the history of the plantation and its various owners. A visit to Berkeley is well worth the price of admission.
