Highlights
- Blåmanen - This hike is a must-do if you want to get the most out of your visit to Bergen. It is a medium 2,5 -3,5 hours hike away from the crowds with great views of Bergen and the surrounding area. We hike literally on top of Bergen and go off the beaten track through woods, past lakes, and on paths where we can hear the silence.
The hike requires some experience of hiking and has a medium difficulty level. Most of the hike is in uneven terrain that may be wet, so proper hiking shoes are required.
You meet our guide in the centre of Bergen and make your way to the top of Mt Fløyen where the real hike starts. Above Mt Fløyen our guide will take you through untouched terrain, reaching some higher summits with amazing views of Bergen and the ocean surrounding it. Our guide is local and will be able to tell you about Norwegian culture, habits and history.
After hiking for about 3 hours we will return to the town centre of Bergen and you can spend the rest of the day exploring Bergen town.

Nice hike with beautiful views and great guide - Really great hike with incredible views of Bergen. Our tour guide was awesome. He really knew the trails well and guided us to very scenic overlooks. He was very knowledgeable about Bergen and the surrounding area and had a lot of interesting information about the city and the trails we were on. Highly recommend!

The highlight of my trip - The "On top of Bergen" hike was without doubt the highlight of my recent trip. Our guide Øystein was friendly and knowledgeable, taking us off the marked tracks and up to stunning viewpoints. I was blessed with good weather, but I am sure I would have enjoyed the trip regardless. Hikes are tailored to ability level and weather conditions, you will always be safe and able to enjoy the trip. I highly recommend Norway Mountain Guides and hope to hike with them again in future!

If you enjoy hiking and beautiful views, this is a must-do! - The "Hiking on Top of Bergen" public tour was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Bergen! After meeting up with our guide Normann, who was incredible, we started the day by taking a trip up to Mt Fløyen by cable car to officially start the hike. The various peaks we stopped at were amazing, but once we hiked to the top of the mountain we were greeted with a breathtaking view of the entire city and surrounding mountains. Along the way, Normann told us about the history of the locations we stopped at and shared personal stories about his hiking experiences as a guide; he definitely made the hike better than we could imagine!
Overall, I would consider this an easy-medium hike but we also lucked out with great weather. If you're interested in having a great day outdoors, please consider signing up!

Brilliant tour of Beautiful Bergen! - Josina was our guide and she was GREAT! Informed and informative, warm and funny, displayed a passion for Bergen and its surroundings, and answered every question, and then some! A must for any duration of stay in beautiful Bergen. One of our fellow group-members was not great with stairs, and the route was adapted unhesitatingly, and without detracting from the experience at all.

Great views & great company - Thomas was an excellent guide! My wife and I were slower hikers than the rest of the group & Thomas was good about waiting for us to catch up and walking with us from time to time. We really enjoyed the hike, the views and getting to meet hikers from different countries.

A Fun Experience with a Local Guide: Rain, Foraging, and Norwegian Delights! - Gaute, a Bergen local, was our fantastic tour guide! Despite rainy weather and extreme fog, he made our hike safe and memorable, teaching us about trees, mushrooms, and history. He even guided us to forage for berries. During a break, he introduced us to Norway's brown cheese and other delightful snacks. Meeting other couples in our small group was a bonus. If you're in town for a short time, I highly recommend this hike. Gaute's knowledge and hospitality made our day in rainy Bergen.

A great way to see the Norwegian country side and get to know the Norwegian culture - Great tour by our mountains guide Gaute, Gaute was knowledgeable, friendly, spoke perfect English but most importantly he was enthusiastic and excited to tell us all about the Norwegian country side. The coffee, bread and cheese were a great touch. The day we went it was just the two of us on the tour, the tour operator is a standup business. They could of easily cancelled due to so few guests but they honored their commitment, highly recommend this tour, the highlight of our five days in Norway.

Beautiful views and a great way to learn about the Norwegian people - Our Guide Gaute was amazing we learned more then just hiking in Norway. We learned about the Norwegian lifestyle, economy, government, history, ecology, you name it it was a wonderful exposure to Norway with beautiful views above Bergen. The company Norway Mountain Guides that run the tour are great. They could of easily cancelled the tour with only two of us there but they honored their commitment and gave us the best tour we have had in Europe in 10 years. Highly recommend our guide Gaute and this tour. Well worth the money

Good views - The tour guide was great and friendly. This tour was booked for us and perhaps not what we would have opted for usually. As groups are mixed, then we found the group quite slow walking which is the risk with a group. The guide was accommodating and was pointing out places to go ahead. It’s a fairly easy trail to follow. A lot of the time taken was waiting for others. It’s a great walk to do for the views, if you’ve got limited time and fairly fit though the tour may take too long. We did learn about other aspects of life, culture, the fauna so not just about walking. I think the tour is excellent for those less experienced in travelling or wanting to find out about Norway and mix with others
