- Osteroy Municipality - Sørfjorden, or South fjord, is part of Osterfjord, a unique natural feature: a saltwater inlet encircling Northern Europe’s largest inland island, Osterøy Island, surrounded by mainland. The drive follows the South fjord to the crossroads at Trengereid. (Typically, there is no stop here.)
- Trengereid - From Trengereid village, Route #7 is taken to Hardangerfjord. (A stop is not usually made here.)
- Hardangervegen - Hardangervegen, or Hardanger Road, is Norwegian route #7, a scenic route offering stunning views of mountains, lakes, and waterfalls. Two photo stops are planned at Fossen Bratte and Steinsdalsfossen waterfalls on the way to Hardangerfjord.
- Fossen Bratte - A stop is made at Fossen Bratte waterfall, which stands 259 feet (79 meters) tall. The view is breathtaking, perfect for memorable photos. A short walk to the waterfall’s base is highly recommended to experience the refreshing mist and gentle water droplets.
- Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall - The next stop is Steinsdalsfossen waterfall, 164 feet (50 meters) tall. Visitors can walk behind the waterfall without getting wet, and a walk to the viewpoint is highly recommended.
- Thon Hotel Sandven - In Norheimsund, there is an opportunity to stop at Hotel Sandven for lunch.
- Hardanger Fjord - The journey continues along the fjord, offering views of the natural beauty and charming villages along the coast.
- Skårsvatnet - After passing through Norheimsund and Øystese, a short detour leads to Skårsvatnet, the Goldfish Lake, home to a large population of tame golden orfe, often seen near the shore.
- Fyksesund Bridge - Following the Goldfish Lake, the tour proceeds to Fyksesundet, a narrow fjord crossed by the Fyksesund suspension bridge, built in 1937.
- Steinstø Fruktgard - On the other side of Fyksesundet is Steinstø, a small farming community with a fruit farm, kiosk, and café. A stop here for coffee, apple pie, and a fjord view is possible.
- Hardanger - The Hardangerfjord is Norway’s second-longest fjord. The tour travels along the fjord to Granvin.
- Skjervsfossen Waterfall - En route to Voss, a short detour on an alternate road leads to Skjervsfossen, featuring twin falls plunging from 150 meters.
- Vossevangen - After Skjervsfossen, the tour reaches Voss, home to historical sites like Vangskyrkja, a church from 1277, and St. Olaf’s cross from 1023. A stop is made to take the Voss Gondol cable car to Mount Hangur’s summit (2690 ft / 820 m above sea level).
- Voss Gondol - The cable car ascends to Mount Hangur’s summit (2690 ft / 820 m above sea level), with tickets included in the price. The ride is brief, offering spectacular views. At the summit, a restaurant serves meals (not included), featuring homemade dishes with local ingredients from Voss and nearby farms. The menu, focused on simplicity and flavor, changes daily.
The tour can be extended for an additional fee:
During snow-free periods, a short mountain hike can be arranged, starting and ending at the mountain’s summit.
In winter, the guide can assist with ski rentals and equipment for trying the slopes.
- Bergen - The tour concludes with a return to Bergen from Voss. The suggested return time is 6:30 pm.
