A Journey Through Bergen’s Cascading Wonders

As a biologist and environmental activist, my heart beats for the untouched beauty of nature. So, when I found myself in Bergen, Norway, I couldn’t resist the allure of the Bergen Beyond Day trip Experience. This adventure promised a close encounter with some of the region’s most stunning waterfalls, and it did not disappoint.

Our journey began in the historic heart of Bergen, where our guide, Bas, greeted us with a warm smile and an infectious enthusiasm for the natural wonders we were about to explore. As we drove through the city, Bas regaled us with tales of Bergen’s rich history and culture, setting the stage for the day’s adventures.

Our first stop was Mørkhølen Fossen, affectionately dubbed “The Cute Waterfall.” Despite its modest size, this waterfall exuded a charm that was impossible to ignore. Bas encouraged us to take the old road down to the base of the waterfall, where we could experience its full force up close. At the top of the waterfall, we paused to take in the panoramic views of the surrounding valley.
