• The Eagle’s Nest - The Eagle’s Nest or Kehlsteinhaus was built in 1937-1938 as a gift for Hitler’s 50th birthday. The building is an architectural masterpiece with fantastic views, rising on a narrow rocky ridge at an altitude of 1,834 metres in the middle of the Bavarian Alps near the Alpine town of Berchtesgaden. A visit to the Eagle’s Nest is fascinating, your private English-speaking driver will take you to the car park, where a local bus will take you along a steep 6.5km long path carved into the rock. In 15 minutes you’ll climb 700 metres. But that’s not all. When you reach the upper car park, you’ll have to walk through a marble-lined tunnel and then take a luxurious period lift up another 124 metres. There, you’ll find not only the interior of the once-famous villa, but also the restaurant and, of course, stunning panoramic views of the Alps.
